Remington ~ Model 700 BDL ~ .30-06 Springfield

This Remington Model 700 BDL is an excellent example of one of the most iconic hunting rifles of all time. The Remington 700 is an extremely robust push-feed bolt-action rifle that has proven itself as an excellent and versatile action since its invention in 1962. While initially devised as a practical sporting rifle for hunting purposes, its strong action, reliability, and platform for accuracy have led to its service as a target rifle as well as military and law enforcement marksman rifle. This particular rifle was manufactured in October of 1969 and is a standard BDL model chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The BDL model features a hinged magazine floorplate. This rifle's barre has a fixed dovetailed front sight blade and is drilled and tapped for a sporter rear sight. The receiver wears a set of two-piece Weaver scope bases paired with a set of 1" Weaver rings and 4x32mm fixed-power scope. The bolt is jeweled on this rifle and the gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock has a black plastic buttplate. This rifle is in overall good condition. The rifling is in good shape with no rust or pitting. The gloss stock has no significant damage and exhibits light handling wear. The finish on the receiver has reddish discoloring from age and has worn thin around the edges, but is overall in very good condition. The barrel's finish is largely original and intact, but there are some speckled markings wear there has likely been surface rust and light pitting and been refinished. The touch-up job is visible in the right lighting angles. The crown and muzzle is good, but has finish worn away. This rifle does not include a case or box and is sold as pictured.
