Rigs & Components

One of the great joys of fishing is the variety. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of species out there, in both freshwater and saltwater. For every kind of fish that swims, there are thousands of places you can go to catch them, and thousands more ways to hook up.

That's where we come in.

At Bass Pro Shops, we have the gear you need to connect with almost any type of fish you can name. No matter where you fish, just remember: fish are fish. They all have to eat, and almost all of the fish we hope to catch are carnivores.

Meat-eaters. They want bait.

From tiny copepods and freshwater crustaceans that are so small, you can hardly see them without a magnifying glass, to ocean fish weighing several pounds, the range of bait used to catch fish is immense. And through the years, fishermen have devised special rigs for presenting those baits with rod and reel.

Browse the Fishing section at any Bass Pro Shops store, and you'll find pre-made rigs for catching the various fish that swim in the waters of that region. For instance, in the Midwest or Canada you could find a large in-store selection of spinner harnesses and other walleye rigs, plus crappie rigs, trout rigs, catfish rigs, and muskie rigs. Meanwhile, stores nearer to the Pacific coast will carry a high number of salmon rigs and other saltwater rigs, plus various freshwater rigs depending on location. East and South, you'll see quite a few saltwater rigs, plus crappie rigs and catfish rigs.

All of these styles are proven favorites for the species you'll target, and come ready to tie on; just add bait and start fishing. If you prefer to craft your own fishing rigs, though, rest assured you'll find all the necessary components at your nearest Bass Pro Shops store. Beads, sinkers, spinner blades, hooks, lines and leaders, swivels and connectors-if you can conceive it, we have the quality materials you'll need to make it.

And as any rigger will tell you, nothing is more satisfying than catching a good fish on a rig you made yourself!
