Born of the Traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22 LR and .22 Magnum cartridges the Rough Rider is manufactured using state of the art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want 'em. Adjustable rear sights, red ramp front sight.

Poor cylinder alignment and the construction and materials are low end. You absolutely get what you pay for. Heritage customer service is just as low end as their firearms. Slow to return calls and emails and they will ignore your issues. Cabela’s needs to dump this outfit. BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased this with a Cabela’s gift card and some hidden “man stash” money recently and I am extremely happy with this purchase. First off, let me say that this is an inexpensive gun. Don’t expect S&W custom shop fit and finish. Set your expectations accordingly and you will enjoy this pistol! That being said, there are a few things that I did and have noticed. First thing is READ THE MANUAL! Sounds silly but really, read it. It will tell you NOT to dry fire the pistol. Good to know. It will tell you that the hammer will fall on the third position. Also good to know. It will tell you NOT to fan it, and if you do you will void the warranty (I will tell you not to because doing so is like rubbing the heal of your hand on a cheese grater). Before I went to the range, I read and watched a few of the reviews online and noticed a common complaint that being the screws keep backing out. Just for kicks, I took a screw driver to my brand new, never been fired pistol and just about every screw was loose!!! And I don’t mean they just needed to be snugged up, they were ¾ to a full turn before even getting to the point I would consider tight! Well, I fired up YouTube and there was a video on which screws could be safely removed and Loctite (blue) added to. Took all of 2 minutes and I can say that after a 600 round initial test, all screws are still attached and tight. Is it the most accurate pistol ever? No. Does the cylinder line up perfectly every time you go to eject the spent brass? No. Did I have more fun shooting that Heritage pistol over my Browning Buck Mark? Yes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Beretta20gauge from Way too costly for the quality. Bought this at Cabela’s because I wanted a .22 for my wife to shoot. First time out the ejector rod housing fell off. I was able to find all the parts including the tiny screw. Put it back together and the same thing happened after about 24 rounds. Not at all accurate. I have seen them elsewhere for nearly half the price. That might be a worthwhile investment, but not at Cabela’s price.

I had seen pictures and videos of these before, but If I had seen what they look like in person for the price point, I would have gotten one a long time ago.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Inspector6 from returned 9 shot mulfuctioning revolver Update!!!!!!! I finally received an email from Heritage stating that it was a 12 week return on repairs. Shortly afterwards I received my Rough rider. So glad to get it back and it 's working perfect. In all fairness to Heritage I gave them 3 stars because of lack of communication with buyer. Great gun though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by GCSP from The problems are normal?? Service Rep says "Yes!" I purchased this 9-shot revolver when Cabelas had them on sale and am now pretty sad I did. I found that the hammer will easily fall on the third click (should ONLY fall on the fourth) and the cylinder won't line up for loading and unloading. You have to manually hold the cylinder in the correct place to insert or eject a shell. I called heritage because I heard they take care of their customers. After I explained the problems, the customer representative agreed that the hammer falling was a big issue. But, the cylinder not lining up is normal? Not on a Rough Rider six shot (I've shot one), or any other revolver I've ever shot. I decided to go ahead and send it in for repairs. They sent me a prepaid label to send it in and, about a month after the post office said it was delivered, sent me an email saying that they had received it (February 19th). There was a note saying that the service would take around 12 weeks to complete. Seriously? Maybe they are just really busy. Today (May 23rd) I called them back to find out what is going on. The service rep found my order and informed me that the gun fired 18 times without a problem and that the hammer falling on the third click is totally normal. WHAT?? I informed him that the previous person had said that a hammer falling on the third click WAS a big problem. He insisted that there is no issue with the hammer falling at the incorrect place, it just happens. So you are saying, just make sure you don't accidentally pull the trigger if you don't happen to get the hammer all the way back? Pretty much. Avoid this handgun at ALL costs. It isn't worth it. I am VERY disappointed with Heritage Arms and it takes a LOT to make me upset. I'll never buy another one of their guns. Not sure what I'll do with this one now. Maybe grind off the third click? I sure don't want anyone inexperienced with firing a gun to blow it up in their face. I'm going to say I doubt that the gun will blow up, but you never know. Like I said before, don't buy this! But, if you can't resist, make ABSOLUTELY sure of two things: 1 - The trigger pulls and the hammer falls ONLY on the fourth click. 2 - The cylinder lines up with the ejection port/ejector rod while on the second click. Otherwise keep your money and spend it on something else!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Inspector6 from returned 9 shot mulfuctioning revolver Terrible service repair. I purchased one of these 9 shot revolvers new from local store and immediately had problems. Barrel was loose so i locktited it. Extracting rod would not line up with chambers. One cylinder would not fully lock up in position to fire and caused multiple misfires. I sent it back to Heritage and as of today it's been almost two months and no response. I've tried calling about 10 times with no answer and I've sent three emails with absolutely no response. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Not sure if I'll ever see the gun again. Truly a poor way to run a service department. Even left my phone # and no response.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Doc1854 from Great pistol I really like this gun. It fits in my hand very well, no rough edges, good finish. The gun is easy to use and clean. I like the second cylinder for 22 mag. It's fun to shoot easy to shoot and great to show younger people how to shoot with.

Thank you for your inquiry. Per the Manufacturer: The sights on this revolver are fixed. You can tap it lightly with a rubber mallet or rubber hammer.
