Smith & Wesson®'s popular M&P Shield Semi-Auto Pistol operates with a striker-fired action, eliminating any external hammer to catch on clothing when this handgun is carried concealed. The thin 1" profile aids with concealment. The operation is based on a polymer frame and coated stainless steel action. Other features of the S&W M&P Shield pistol are white dot rear and front sights, 2-piece trigger, textured grip, extended magazine that increases grip surface, and rounded features to make the handgun more concealed carry oriented.

.45 ACP w/ night sights, no portingPicked up one of these two weeks ago. Non stop rain has been keeping away from the shooting range. I can't wait to shoot this pistol! Trigger is fantastic fit and finish is excellent. Bonus- it came with a second 7 round mag for a total of three mags. Mag springs are super stiff. I don't think I could have loaded it without the maglula magazine loader that I bought the same day. I keep 5 Winchester bonded rounds in it to save long term wear and tear on the magazine spring. This thing fits my hand perfectly, just like a 1911.

Great concealed carry pistol.I have had the 9mm Shield for a year now. Over 1,000 rounds fired not a single issue. Performs excellent! Its comfortable and easy to conceal. I purchased 3 extra 8 round mags. I have used only mags from Smith and Wesson all work without any problems.
I definitely recommend this gun.
The only upgrade I am looking into would be some type of fiber optic sights. The standard white dot are good. Low light something brighter would be nice.

My first semiautoThis was my first semiautomatic and is an excellent example. High quality fit and finish, easy field breakdown, good accuracy. I have put about 1000 rounds down range and it hasn't skipped a beat!

Great Concealed CarryI bought this gun a few months back after researching multiple concealed carry weapons and I'm definitely pleased. I ordered online and it was ready to pick up at the store in 4 business days. I have the 9mm and the extended grip on the 8 round mag fits my hand perfectly, although the 7 round isn't difficult to cope with either. This gun is accurate out of the box and has had no problem with any ammo I've put into it. I carry it as my concealed carry and will continue to. Great job S&W.

magazine faultThe trigger is to stiff and the eight round magazine causes the slide to not close properly, The result is the trigger won't function until you push the slide closed with your hand! The six round mag works fine.

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm - Awesome!This was a great gun to add to my collection. I'm a loyal Smith and Wesson owner and have shot Smith and Wesson for years. I like the striker fire action after years of shooting with a hammer. The gun fits my hand perfect, is easy to operate, and I'm able to shoot this gun accurately. I chose the model with the thumb safety, which is easily accessible without having to change the position of my hand. I've put over 500 rounds through this gun with no issues at all, no misfires, soft strikes, or jams. This gun is also easy to field strip for cleaning and can be taken down in about 30 seconds (and I work slower than most guys). This makes a nice carry gun due to it's slip profile. The gun comes with one 8-round magazine and one 7-round magazine, and a cable lock. I purchased another 8-round magazine as they are inexpensive and readily available. It's a Smith and Wesson . . . need I say more!

Love the 2.0 M&P Shield 9mm!!!!!!!Everything about this 2.0 shield is just great, from the great new grip to the better trigger, right out of the box first time shooting a 100 Rnds not 1 problem. I will be getting the compact size next for sure best pistol hands down that i own well, beside my Beretta 92a1, hands down the best gun i own if u are trying to decide on a CCW you can't go wrong TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
