Wonderful choice for any baker
For more than 100 years, Lodge has been perfecting the process of making cast-iron cookware, formulating the perfect metal chemistry to create durable cookware with incredible heat retention and distribution. In the past, the seasoning process was never complete until someone cooked countless batches of fried chicken, catfish and cornbread in the pan or pot to burnish it to a black patina, creating a piece of cookware that could be handed down like an heirloom. Lodge Logic removes the waiting, thanks to a newly-developed seasoning process. Lodge's electrostatic spray system applies a proprietary vegetable oil combination to deeply penetrate the pores of the iron. The result? Seasoned cast-iron cookware from Lodge you can use it right out of the box.

BEST Bread PAN!I have used other bread pans for years. Decided to go with cast iron because they last for ever, and like wine they get better with age. First use the bread stuck to the pan even though I oiled it first. After 2nd or 3rd time of use, not sticking at ALL! Even though the pan is supposed to be "seasoned", it needs more seasoning to prvent the bread from sticking. After the 3rd use, the bread just falls out of the pan like it should. Like I said, it gets better eith age. Do yourself a favor, buy qualify that will last for generations. Bread cooks evenly, and its a joy to use. I bought one to try it out, I love it so much I am buying 7 more. MADE IS USA too!

Best Bread Pan!!!I make 6 loaves of bread, three times a week for my family. Before I got these pans, I was using Stainless Steel bread pans, which I really liked. But, now that I have these, I am hooked! I have used every kind of bread pan there is ... glass, aluminum, non-stick, stoneware, stainless steel, and now cast iron. Nothing is as good as the cast iron! But, if I couldn't have the cast iron, I would go with stainless steel.
They cook very evenly. Before, I had to cook the tops of my loaves more brown than I liked in order to get the loaf cooked all the way through. But now, the tops and sides cook evenly, so when the tops are golden brown, I know my loaf is cooked through. With these pans, the loaves come out of the pan right away. When I let my bread rise in a warm oven, which I always do anyway, the warm pans retain the heat, and my loaves rise in less time.
The pan holds a standard 2 lb. bread loaf. In my opinion, the standard gives you the best, most even cook. Try it, and you'll be hooked, too!
