Federal Power Shok Copper Centerfire Rifle Ammo
Federal® Power Shok® Copper Centerfire Rifle Ammo provides accuracy, flat trajectory, and lethal terminal performance with a non-toxic bullet. The bullet is constructed of copper alloy with a hollow-point to initiate expansion over a wide range of velocities. With no chance of jacket/core separation, the solid copper bullet retains maximum weight for deep penetration. Federal Power Shok Copper Centerfire Rifle Ammo is loaded with reloadable brass cases, and Catalyst™ lead-free primers that provide efficient and reliable ignition. Non-toxic, Power Shok Copper rifle ammunition is compatible in California and other areas that prohibit lead projectiles.

Great non-lead for the priceHaving shot a lot of non-lead options I was concerned this would not be up to the high performance standards of other non-lead options. I was pleasantly surprised and for the price this can't be beat. My rifle even groups this Copper HP better than the Federal Trophy Copper which is no slouch itself. Tested these in water too and great penetration and expansion every time.
Highly recommend especially if you need something more economical in non-lead. Like others have said you can drop your grain weights from what you shoot in lead by about 20% since the density is different and you will see similar performance.

GarbageI bought this ammo on sale and took it to the range only to have it not even chamber in my rifle. I could not close my bolt without extreme difficulty. I wouldn’t recommend

Excellent bullets. Very quick and clean kills with these. Hogs and deer are no match for this round. I have killed a dozen deer and hogs with these rounds and all were dropped in place.

Hits like a TRUCKBought a 243 to introduce my kids to hunting. I was wanting something with lighter recoil but with enough authority to take a deer given good shot placement. In testing I did my part and WOW did Federal do theirs! This 243 sat a 200lb buck down just as quick as my 308. Accuracy is easily sub-moa from my Ruger American. I've even shot out to 200 yards and still just under a 2 inch group. THANK YOU FEDERAL.

Great roundsUse these the last two years in my x bolt browning and they shoot flat and consistent, love that they are no deformed lead soft tips and are all copper jacketed

Great PerformanceI sighted in my 270 rifle with this ammo and took it on a deer hunt this fall. I shot a buck at 200 yards and it went down immediately. I was very happy with the accuracy and terminal performance of the bullet.

Good but not the best copper roundBeing in California, this is my first time using copper ammunition, i was pleasantly surprised. i have a .270 Winchester rifle. ballistics are very similar to lead core bullets. due to the density difference between copper and lead it is recommended that if you use a 150gr lead core to use a 130gr copper to get similar ballistics. I had my scope sited in at 200yrds with 130gr lead core remington core-lokt ammunition previously. i bought 3 boxes of the federal power shock copper 130gr. and after about 10 rounds i was set.
I had to take a shot on a mule deer at 40 yards from behind. it dropped immediately and after field dressing/processing the deer i was able to recover the bullet just under the hide at the front shoulder. I was very excited about that because it allowed me to see the bullet condition and path. It traveled in a very straight line throught the entire body cavity. it retained 100% of its mass as far as i could tell, but its expansion was not what i expected. it basically formed a swollen front that increased the size to that of a .30 cal. it is $10 less per box than the Federal Vital Shok trophy copper ammunition, and now i know why. I will be using up the rest of the Power-Shok as target practice ammo, then transitioning to the Vital Shok for its proven performance when it comes to the ballistic tip and the improved expansion. i have no doubt either the vital-shok or the power-shok will be able to rip through an elks hide, leg bone, and go out the other side, from the trials i have seen these little bullets hold together and go through anything.
