Federal American Eagle® Lake City 5.56 Bulk Centerfire Rifle Ammo is produced specifically for AR-type semi-automatic rifles to the same strict quality assurance standards and specifications used by the US Military. Federal makes American Eagle ammunition at the Lake City Arsenal, which is the Defense Department's primary source for military 5.56mm, 7.62mm and .50-caliber rifle ammunition. Federal American Eagle Lake City 5.56 Ammo is loaded in brass cases with quality powders and non-corrosive primers. Made in USA.

Very poor descriptionCan't purchase if rifle compliance isn't provided. It is described as 2 different rounds. Is it .223 Remington as originally labeled, or is it 5.56?

American Eagle ammoGood ammo at a great price! Was on sale so I stocked up. Appears to be as accurate as any other ammo I have used and clean firing. Rifle not as dirty as it gets when you make the mistake of using cheaper quality ammo. Will continue to use Federal American Eagle.

Great target ammoI run these through my Ruger AR 556 MPR with no issues. I use magpul PMags and they feed great.
Is this round the same as 5.56x45 NATO as my rifle specifies 5.56x45? I am new to semi-auto rifles.

Above reply is incorrect. .223 CAN be fired from a 5.56..
5.56 should not be fired from a .223 rifle. Simple answer would be the 5.56 having a somewhat higher pressure ~60,000 psi vs. ~55,000
