Simple Yet EffectiveI was originally drawn to the tactical-looking FDE boots you always see on the shelves that make you feel as though you are about to drop out of an Apache helicopter into some barren desert over seas.
Luckily I took a step back while at bass pro and considerd all the options, looking for what design appeared to be the best at keeping water OUTSIDE of my boots. I saw these simple yet effective looking Danner boots on the top shelf and tried them on. it's now been 3 months since I bought them and I'm considering buying another pair. And not because this pair is ruined, but because I am so impressed with the comfort, build quality, and ability of keeping my feet dry that these boots possess.
One thing I noticed is that the tongue of these boots went up higher than most other boots, so you dont have to worry as much about water seeping in thru the area near the laces.
Paired these boots with some SealSkinz Waterproof Trekking socks, and I can say that its definitely a match made in heaven.
I'm currently sitting on a log in the woods of New England, early December, during a deer hunt. was so impressed with these boots again that I decided to take a minute to review them. I can walk quietly thru the woods with these boots and they provide decent ankle support, but not so much that it inhibits small movements such as pivoting and stepping down. they are also the lightest boots I own so I barely even notice I have boots on when stalking deer.
only thing I would maybe change is the tread pattern perhaps. no actual issues yet, but the pattern is much less aggressive than other boots i have.

Not what I expectedI have owned a pair of these boots for a little over a year. They are durable. They do not polish up very well and my feet sweat like crazy in them. I have never had a problem like this with most other boots. They do not allow your feet to breathe even when you are not moving a lot.

BootsThese boots are really comfortable right out of the box. I liked these boots a lot but they made my feet sweat like crazy. I work 24 hour shifts so I wear my work boot a lot. Couldn't fix the problem with socks or powder. Maybe just me but never had boots do that to me.
