Make preparing food plots a 1-man job with the GroundHog Max ATV/UTV Disc Plow from Bad Dawg Accessories™. This versatile ATV implement uses the weight of the ATV and driver to cut through the most compacted soils. The GroundHog Max's inner 10"-9"-8" notched disc setup with high speed bearings cuts through hard ground, grass, and ground clutter with ease, making it great for food plot prep, fire breaks, landscaping, and more. Able to plow forward or backwards, this disc/plow allows you to adjust the plowing depth in 1" increments. Easy-to-use disc/plow features separate transport and plowing positions to make it easier to get to the plot. Optional hitch upgrade kit and extendable receiver tube help strengthen the existing utility hole. Works with any ATV/UTV with a strong factory 2'' square receiver. For hunters not farmersFirst, before you do anything else, you must upgrade your receiver before using the groundhog max unless you already have one that is stronger than a coffin nail. Watch YouTube videos to see why. Second, understand that this is for hunters, not farmers. If you want to be a farmer, get a tractor. I have worked 3 different types of ground so far with a kingquad 750. It worked great in the quarter acre alfalfa field without mowing first. In less than 20 minutes I had a great seed bed prepared. Also worked well in the woods but tree roots make the ride a bit rough. Thick, dense grass was the most difficult to work. I should have sprayed and either mowed or burned it before hand but the groundhog did the job, it just took 3 times as long. For the money and my intended use I haven't seen anything better yet.

Blown AwayI did my research, and still was somewhat apprehensive when plugging the GHM into the Rhino receiver for the first time. All doubts were removed 20 minutes later when the 200 yard lane was nothing but finely plowed seed bed. Second small plot was much the same and ready for seeding in just over 15 minutes. Granted, this was a sandy loam soil but still somewhat compacted (old logging roads). Do a little prep work with weed killer a week before plowing and results will be fun to see. I did have to run 4wd low to turn soil as the GHM was still a bit too tall at its shortest setting to get good enough traction in 2wd. Receiver fared fine even after numerous encounters with roots etc. This is a rare product that truly lives up to its advertising.

Not for KingquadIf you have a receiver hitch that bolts from underneath the factory mount I'm sure this is great. I have a Suzuki Kingquad. This destroyed my Moose reciever hitch. The groundhog seems sturdy though.

Works as advertisedGreat product. Was skeptical but after watching videos and contacting the manufacturer decided to try it. Made short work of tilling a new food plot cut deep in the woods.

Not as advertisedPurchased this a month ago, used it once on my new arctic cat 700 and within an hour of work it had bent my two inch receiver and had cracked the support bar on the hitch. I have to get the hitch welded back on my new 2017 four wheeler which I have owned for less than 4 months. I hate to give a bad review since I had done several hours of research and had high hopes for this product but it did not work at all for me. Bass pro was great in taking back the product and I have since purchased a traditional atv disc.

Perfect!Got tired of paying someone with a tractor to do the work i knew i could do myself if only i had something inexpensive to do it with. Did a little research on this baby and watched tons of video of it in action, boy was i sold on it. So I purchased it & still a little skeptical when i got in the woods to use it cause my pops was with me & I new if this thing didn't perform he was gonna let me hear it all the way back home. We started in our half acre food plot with grass about chest high. Each pass you make you begin to see that dirt really fly as it dig deeper with each adjustment. It took about an hour and 15 min to disc it up until it was nothing but dirt, grass & weeds gone. I don't have a trailer to haul large equipment & frankly like the fact that all my gear fits in the back of my truck to do the work. Hook it to your ATV receiver in the up position and ride into the woods to your remote location and go to work. Bottom line if the ATV fits then it fits. I have disc two food plots with it ( 1 half acre & 1 quarter acre kill plot) . Tough as nails & performed with no hiccups, definitely worth the money you won't regret it.

Digging InI like the Idea that you can use your weight and the weight of ATV and it will do the job. However, it takes alot to get the dirt to the proper tilling. The connection to my 2" hitch is loose and the connection from shaft to disc shaft is a loose fit, they need to re-engineer that, but It did the job in about 1-1/2 hours for a plot that is 60ft x 30ft just to give an idea..

Answer for a food plot installI wanted to do my on food plots this year rather than paying out the nose for a tractor to come in an do it. I am a new-by but wanted to do my own thing for a change and the satisfaction of it. Once I got my hitch ordered and installed, it was very simple to do the plowing. I just road in a looping circle and got it down to the dirt. I will try my hand at planting soon. It was fun but results is what I need. Cool product
I have a Polaris Sportsman 450 with a 1" receiver hitch. Is the 450 strong enough to use this disc plow with the 2" receiver adapter?

I have Polaris 700, based on your experience is that a strong enough receiver for your product? And will I need the hitch kit? mostly top sandy soil conditions with red clay underneath.

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. The Polaris 700 has a strong enough receiver for this disc plow and will work just fine in sandy soil with red soil. You will need a hitch kit if the receiver is not a 2" receiver.

I want to buy my husband this for his birthday. We have a 2002 Bombartier 500 and a 2014 Can am 450. Should I buy the one with the hitch kit.?? We have 2 1 acre plots and a trail to disc. I do not want to bend the receiver or any other mishaps.

Thank you for your question. The hitch kit works with any ATV/UTV with a strong factory 2'' square receiver. If you have a 2 inch receiver you will not need to purchase this with the receiver included.

What is the width of the disc

It is 21 inches wide which allows it to fit between the rear wheels. This gives it direct down pressure. You can plow twice as fast as a pull behind 4-7+ mph. So what you loose in width you gain back in speed and manuaverabilty. Not near as much pressure on your ATV as pulling large plows with more weight added to them (at low speeds in loose dirt).

Can this be used in an arena?
I have a riding arena that needs to be tilled on a regular basis and we don't have a tractor but do have access to an ATV. This looks like the perfect thing! Does anyone have any thoughts about whether it would work for this use?

I don't see why not. I disc at 8 to 10 mph for my food plots.
