Keeps me warmThese pants will keep you warm when the temps drop. I have had lined pants that you had to have long johns on with and would still be cold. Not these pants. The cargo pockets are large and well placed on the leg so I can keep my wallet out of my back pocket so I am not sitting on it.

DONT BUYI bought these pants as cold weather pants and they fail in every category I could imagine. They weren't good quality soft and fragile. They are not warm and wind whips straight through. If you are looking for a good warm quality pair of pants spend the money and get the carhartt flannel lined pants they look better fit better and last longer I got 2 workdays out of these and I was freezing the whole time.

great buyI put off trying lined pants for some reason. I finally got some for fly fishing. That opened the flood gate. These are my 3rd style of lined pants. The others have fleece lining. They are great if out in the cold constantly, like a recent camping trip with highs in the 40's. On the other hand, these Redhead Cargo pants are great with both in the house with the thermostat down, and out running errands. The price can't be beat, and so far the construction seems good. The waist has less rise than some cargo pants, and the zipper is a little shorter than some, as mentioned in other reviews. I like the lower rise, and probably not noticed the zipper if I had not read other reviews. I am ordering another pair, especially for the price and free shipping.

poor workmanshippants are fine except for the fit: zipper fly is too short & the lower portion of the zipper is not uasble because the fabric is stitched over the bottom of zipper; & waist is a bit tight for a 34" waist

Not best ZipperThe zipper on these pants is too short, so unless you plan to unbutton them for use in cold weather look for a different pair.
Unfortunately I had the legs shortened before I discovered this and cannot return them.

PoorI bought these trousers for winter work outdoors but they are incredibly lightweight and would not last five minutes in the trees. Also, one of the cargo pockets is stitched through the hand pocket.
They will just about suffice for wear indoors when I do not have the boiler on.

Design problemHad a similar pair from Redhead and liked them a lot, which is why I bought these. The flannel lining feels good on those cold mornings. The thing that's aggravating about the new pair is that the zipper fly is about an inch shorter. Not sure if it was a design change or flaw in the pair I bought, but I wouldn't buy another pair and I wouldn't recommend the product because of it.

Great pantsI love these pants. Very comfortable and warm for mild winter weather. They also fit great. Much better than other cargo pants I have bought in the past.
The only reason for not giving 5 stars is:
I bought 2 pair, one pair had a belt loop that wasn't attached completely on one end. My MIL will fix that. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
Your preference? If you pull them on and have a good fit it'll sit at waist, if you want to pull below pull them down a bit? above, pull up slightly. all on how you put them on and wear them. if they're a bit loose on you they may sit below waist. depends on what you want and how they fit on you

If I wash and dry them should I expect some shrinkage?

Since the pants are 100% cotton there is always a possibility of them shrinking. Washing these pants in cold water and hang drying them should reduce that possibility.
