The Winchester® Model 70 Extreme Bolt-Action Rifle features a durable Bell and Carlson™ synthetic stock with a sculpted cheekpiece and a TrueTimber® VSX camo finish. 1-piece bottom metal with a steel floorplate adds rigidity and durability, and all exterior steel surfaces feature a durable Tungsten Cerakote® finish for lasting corrosion and weather resistance. The stock features a Pachmayr Decelerator® recoil pad. The "pre-'64" Model 70 action utilizes a large claw extractor to provide maximum surface contact on the cartridge's rim for sure extraction of the spent casing, and a solid blade-type ejector reliably clears empty cases from the action. A 3-position safety allows the shooter to load or unload the Model 70 with the safety engaged in the mid position, and the jeweled bolt locks with the safety in the rearward position, where it is extremely unlikely to get knocked off safe when carrying the rifle over rugged terrain. Winchester's M.O.A.™ Trigger System has zero trigger "creep" prior to releasing the firing pin, and no "overtravel" after firing the rifle.
