Rated 4 out of 5 by flytyermac from Great value So far so good. Tied everything from a #2 weighted hook to a size #20 dry and had no problems. Probably tied 200+ flies without a problem. Not all the bells and whistles as a Regal but it definitely is a great substitute and meets all of my needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by madmayo from Jaw point broke While tying flies for an Alaska salmon trip, the jaw point broke ,upon inspection the jaws are made from pot metal (cast iron) and a bubble in the cast located at lever. I did use this several hundred times before it broke, and it did hold hooks very secure. If jaws were made from stainless steel I would pay the extra and order another on.

I did not over tighten the screw it just wore out. You can not put a #6 2X Heavy nymph hook in the vice either even if you follow their instructions. Sending it back and buying a better vise. I give it a 2 star because it holds small hooks very firmly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rick56 from excellent I have tied at least 500 flies with this vise and used it to display flies that I have tied, and have not had a single problem with this unit, I just put a size 6 salmon hook in this puppy with no problems at all, it will take a much larger hook, it works just about as good as the regal, I would rather own a Regal but this one was $211 cheaper! I thought I was buying a cheap vise that would soon fall apart but it is 6 years later and this guy is still chuging along, it is easy to load and tie flies with, and it is a rotary vise for trimming hair on muddlers, this is a best buy...

The reviewer commented that loading a #6 hook was a chore but how will it work with smaller hooks say #12 to #20?
