Walker's Razor XV Retractable Digital Earbuds with Bluetooth
Walker's Razor XV Retractable Digital Earbuds with Bluetooth are a new concept in hearing protection. A neck worn band houses the electronics that connect to the retractable digital earbuds. The earbuds provide NRR 31 dB protection against gun blasts through sound activated compression, while providing super clear sound through hi-gain, omnidirectional microphones. The Razor-XV comes with built-in Bluetooth connectivity. The unit runs off a rechargeable LIPO battery for up to 10 hours; and an auto shut-off feature conserves battery life. 3 pairs of 12mm foam tips (S/M/L) and 2 pairs of 16mm coated foam tips (M/L) accommodate any user. Tryed it and like itI have used this device for 2 rounds of trap and a couple of limits of doves just last week. Pretty good in my opinion.
The bluetooth to the phone works great. I took calls and listened to the radio (just to try it) with no issues.
The noise reduction is very good. Clamps off the shotgun sounds flawlessly. Amplifies the "normal" sounds to your liking.
The only negative is the sound quality. As you might expect, it is not exactly high quality sound. There is some background noise especially at higher volume.
Seems comfortable around my neck too. Does not interfere with mounting a gun like earmuffs have a tendency to do.
Keep the volume down some, and make sure to have a good fit with the ear plugs and it works just fine.

Disappointing.I bought this about 2 weeks ago, used it twice and both times, battery life was not enough to get through 2 games of trap! The batteries were fully charged, and unplugged just before heading to the range, device turned off. Turned on at the range and less than an hour, battery was fully drained and they shut down in the middle of the second game. Other than battery life these seemed to work well.

Absolutely less than poorI would give this product a minus 5 stars if that choice was available. I received the unit and charged the battery as instructed. The first round of clays it worked fine. Several days later I shot clays again and the compression circuit did not work
so I turned the unit off so the amplifier circuit would not make the
bang even louder. I tried them a third time to find they still did not work.. So much for protection from BANG, BANG, BANG as advertised

Works well for my needsI've used them for outdoor shooting matches and home workshop hearing protection for the last 11 months, and they have worked well for me. Lightweight and comfortable, You can fit them deep into your ears for maximum protection, or insert them without compressing them for light protection. In extremely harsh sound environments such as an indoor range I can comfortably fit regular ear muffs over them. The bluetooth linking to my smartphone works fine, and the ability to listen to something else on the range while still hearing everything around you can be very useful. Separate volume controls for outside sound and bluetooth input make it very easy to adapt to different situations. The only problem encountered were the silicon ear inserts that came with the unit were a bit stiff. I ordered the replacement buds, which were much more supple and comfortable. Overall, it's a very useful tool for competition shooting and light shop work.

Best Electronic Ears I've Owned!I've been a peace officer for 34-years and have been exposed to a number of different types of ear protection devices during my tenure.
I've also started my own firearms training business and am on the range on a very regular bases.
When my most recent electronic headset died, I thought I would try the Walker Razor XV. I'll admit I was hesitant on the purchase because of the price but opted to go feet first and make the purchase.
I opted to purchase the Bluetooth headset to allow me to better "cheek" my long guns without banging the standard "muff" with my rifle/shotgun stock.
I also liked the fact I could pair the headset with my phone to monitor calls and listen to music when working match events.
Bonus, the Walker's have a NRR 31 dB rating!
I put the new Razor XV's to the test at a recent 2-day pistol match event. I couldn't have been happier!
On day one I was a range safety officer and exposed to a solid 7 hours of 30 shooters! No issues with the Razor's!
On day two, I worked as a range safety officer but was later assigned to double check score cards directly behind the range next to a air compressor that was constantly refilling and an assistant who insisted on doing his score card math out loud!
I corrected the noise issue by simply shutting down the ear buds and turning on the Bluetooth and listening to some classic rock! Problem solved!
I'll admit I'm rough on my electronic ears and if these last me more than 1-year I'll be very happy! Stay tuned!
Tomorrow is a range day with police retiree's and I'll see how they perform in my role as an instructor.
I would recommend the XV's based on 2-days of hard use. No issues with the batteries. Quick charging and excellent sound quality.

Works well butWorks well as a Bluetooth and hearing protection. But to amplify the sound you need ear facing the sounds direction.
