Second pair of BreezeHad the Breeze II's and they lasted me a solid 5 years of daily wear during the winter season + weekend hikes and snowboard trips. The new ones have been going strong for about 2 years now under the same abuse and they still look great. Everybody seems to be complaining about the soles wearing out, but I wouldn't expect much less from a boot that's actually being used. Best boots I've ever purchased.

The Best Boot, Not Even CloseI used to hike in Asolo's... only boot I'd worn for years. I need something tough, comfortable, and durable, and they just weren't that. What seemed like forever passed before I stumbled on the Breeze III, and after giving it a try up at Desolation, I knew this was it. That's probably as adventurous as I'm going to get with them, but knowing they can handle the worst I could be able to throw at them is reassuring. Now I'm JACKED for the next hike.
They do fit a little loose - I usually double up on the socks, so this wasn't an issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. Buy these boots.

UncomfortableI bought these boots when they had just come out! I was super excited to use them and broke them in a few times when it was raining, the grip is something else! My disappointment came in after my first hike, I could not stand the boots and wanted to throw them away. The grip is fantastic in wet or dry rock, no matter how steep the terrain, the boot is very waterproof, but man was I ready to dispose of these boots. I decided to give them several other tries before ultimately deciding. I have hiked a good number of miles in them but im just not comfortable to the point that I would rather use running shoes. Unfortunately it will be some time before I can save up for another pair, and im still not sure if I would choose Vasque or try something else.

Almost Premium ProductThis is a great quality of boot, I can actually feel the suction of the Vibram sole and the waterproofing is flawless. I have used these boots through rivers, over mountains, in dunes, and even for climbing, both in the forest and the desert, this boot is super versatile and almost perfect. The only downfall is that it is not very comfortable. I'm not saying this goes to everybody, maybe it was just me. After a few hours your feet start to hurt even if it is not used on tough terrain. This is my first time using Vasque boots and I am undecided whether I would buy another pair. I really love them, but comfort is as important as durability.

Winter Use?I have found these boots to very cold for winter use. I thought the thinsulate would keep my feet warm but that assumption was wrong. I'm going to have find an alternative.

Not like the Breeze IIMy Breeze IIs are starting to show some end of life after 3 years of very rugged hiking in the mountains. These have been great boots. So stopped into REI to look at the Breeze IIIs. I had my old Breeze IIs with me which helped me in the comparison. I could see how my old ones had worn and the changes to the new ones. I was disappointed in what I found. The soles on the new boots are lighter, thinner and actually had about as much rubber as my mostly worn-out soles. this means they are about 1/2 as thick as the old ones. the next think is that in the old ones there are these hard plastic pieces between the soles and the thick cushion layer. These are part of what made these older boots hold up and have torsional rigidity. This is gone and replaces with of all things a lighter piece of foam rubber. In the pictures it looks like the same thing but not in real life. The next thing is the front toe bumper on the old pair has taken some abuse but is still there. The new bumper does not look like it would hold up. Bottom line is the new boots look like fashion boots. So I gave up and found some older Vasque Talus GTXs in the REI garage. I hope they work out, they probably will, nice thick soles and apparent toughness. I have no idea why they would change from what was a great boot they are already making and turn it into a fashion boot. Oh well.

Not as good as its predecessor in qualityComfortable boot, have owned numerous pairs of Vasque boots but it seems the quality has degraded significantly. The old boots including the Breeze II were better made. The glue on the toe bumpers started coming loose almost immediately and since I had wore them in the outdoors (where you are supposed to wear them) they could not be returned so I have parked them in the closet to keep them from coming apart. This is the only major fault and the others are wear related so I will probably end up with another pair after the older pair completely fails.
