Almost greatLet me start by saying I'm picky. This is a fine vest, a huge improvement over those typical cheesy one size fits all cheap vests.
I was looking for a vest that was a bit minimalist as I dont need it to be part of my functional gear, i just need it to satisfy the legal requirement for blaze orange without being in the way and aggravating . This vest pretty much does that but there are 3 things I would change.
The first, the vest material is suede type material, very quiet and comfortable but thicker than it really needs to be, especially for warm weather hunting.
Two, the collar is a bit excessive, bigger than it needs to be, very soft but it kinda aggrevates me laying up against my neck all the time. Im sure they did this to cushion binocular straps, but a lot of folks like me use harness type binocular straps and even if they don't, binocular straps are typically padded anyway.
Three, this is my biggest gripe. The pockets. The two front pockets are "top loading". Since, by law, your orange vest will always be your outermost layer those pockets should have been side opening hand warmer pockets. Now to warm my hands or just rest them in my pockets I have to dig under the vest to my next layer, whatever that is. I also have no need for the large rear pocket. The chest pockets are nice, zip closed and are big enough for a smart phone.
