10 years ago . I wanted an anti reverse reel to avoid
Injury to my hand when saltwater fish make reel screaming runs when you hook up. I have used this reel for redfish. Speckled trout, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, red snapper, and most any inshore fish I could entice. The reel never failed despite breaking two
Different rods while using it.
I also own standard fly reels with large arbors. My only
negative about this reel is the size of the arbor. However, this reel is of superior construction and has rugged durability to last a lifetime.

Best big game at price pointI have used these for big chinook salmon that really hate to be caught, and run 200yds. When you fish for stuff that big in current with that much power, you need really reliable equipment to make sure you dont have lousy trip. This will last, and can be used/relied upon for big Tarpon, Salmon, etc.
