UndecidedI bought the portable repeller over the summer to use while in the garden. I had purchased it in hopes of decreasing the black flies, knowing that this product is more effective on mosquitoes, as I was pretty desperate. To be honest, I'm not sure whether it was helpful or not, but to be fair it was a terrible year for black flies! I will try it again next summer and see how it goes.

Great productI bought the MR300 yesterday morning, 10/13/2019, and used it for the first time yesterday evening. It works great! Down here in East Texas we have huge skeeters that will drain you of your blood quickly and this product keeps them away. It also keeps them "no see 'ums" away also. This morning I didn't use it and the skeeters were ready for breakfast. All I can say is that it works and wish I would have gotten one sooner.

Great for HuntingI Bought the Thermacell for hunting due to the mosquito EEE virus in my area of Michigan. It has worked well so far. However, there isn't even a place to clip a lanyard to hang it. The belt clip or a lanyard loop should be standard on all these portable units. I'd give it stars with an improvement in how it can be carried.

Great for hunting and fishingWork great but I don't understand why you would sale this without any way to attach it to yourself! It's says portable repeller,but no holster or belt hook nothing. I see the others have holsters but not this one!

EEE threat protectionI've been using this produce along with the newer unit for a month in some heavily infested woodlands this season. No joke, our area is under a sever EEE threat going on 3 months now. Using this unit in conduction with DEET spray has kept the mosquitos off during several months of trail cam sets, scouting and tree stand setups flawlessly. Activate the unit 20 minutes before you venture into the woods and you'll create a decent 3-5' zone around your body. I pin or hang mine about chest to produce the most effective barrier. If you're smart about it and disengage the butane cartridge after ever use you'll definitely extend the cartridges life. I'm also getting 5-6 hrs out of a repellent pad in 70-80 degree wether.
An early Whitetail season must have.

works greatI have been using thermacell products for a very long time. I still use my original appliance. I reside in Louisiana so mosquito protection is a must. The earth scent does not concern the critters.

We never looked for expiration dates, because we use them up as fast as we can. I think they would be good for at least a year as the first sets we ordered were ordered in winter. If you keep the pads sealed they should last also, just make sure they are the blue color.
