Works good with some modifications!I purchased this mower for my property up in the hills, with lots of limestone rock and uneven terrain. The Briggs and Stratton motor is great, runs very well and I haven't had any issues with it yet, just make sure you change the oil after the 5 hour break-in time, and then ever 100 hours or once a year. I can attest that this thing is a monster and will cut just about anything your ATV can drive over. I have personally cut 4 1/2' tall weeds, briers/thickets and tree saplings up to 2 1/2" in diameter. I am happy with this mower.
HOWEVER: I have a problem with the welds that hold the Arm-Hitch Weldment mounting bracket to the Tube-Front Weldment. The welds are inferior and I pulled the mower completely apart and snapped the wiring harness. After I taking the mower to a certified welder he repaired the breakage and reinforced the Arm-Hitch Weldment mounting bracket. I replaced the wiring harness and it runs great again, and by the way, with the reinforced welds to the hitch, I'll pull the transmission out of the ATV before it breaks again.
I also replaced the towing pin that comes with the mower with a bolt and nut to lock it onto the tow penile of my ATV. While this gives me better control of the mover it is much more dangerous and should only be used if you have experience with bush hogging. If this is your first mower, keep the pin that comes with the mower.
Also, go ahead and get a second set of blades, and buy a bushel of 1/4"-20X1"HCC GR5 ZP and 1/4"-20HX nut ZP (bolts and nuts) for the belt engage arm. These will break as they should for your safety. This acts as the shear pins. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra pulley belt either.
Lastly, get ready to replace the solenoid that comes with the mower after about 50 hours of use. I went down to the locale auto parts store and replaced with a brand I trust and I've never had another problem with it.
Bottom line folks, with a few modifications (which I do not recommend if you don't know what you're doing) it is a good buy for the amount of abuse you will put it through in the woods.

Worst Purchase EverEngine does not idle correctly, with lots of missing when cutting. Today when driving 3 mph on the ATV cutting thistles, the blades disengaged and won't engage again. Cabling is very cheap. Now who is going to fix it for me? I hope I can get my money back as have ran this mower for maybe 2 tanks of gas. Not worth the money!

worth itPulling this mower to manage the trails and food plots on my hunting land and it does a great job. If you can run over it, it'll cut it. I've cut brush up to 4 foot tall in half acre plots at the lowest setting and it never hesitated. I wish it had a 2" ball instead of the current clevis style connection, but that's my only complaint. Also, if your like me and your using this in pine thickets for food plots, have a "back up" plan! I'm pulling this thing with a crew cab ranger and turning it around in a thicket is a real pain.

Mows great, but........I purchased a 44", 12.5 hp rough cut mower (IK - 524718) to mow the food plots and road on my hunting land. It was relatively easy to assemble and set up. It starts great, and mows as advertised. Clears brush and small trees with ease. I would rate it 5 stars, except the bolts came out of the fuel tank after only about one hour of mowing. Obviously, they were not screwed in tightly by the manufacturer. Also, the pin that attaches it to my ATV broke the first day I used the mower. Would I purchase it again? You bet. But I would make darn certain I tightened all the bolts on the thing before I fired it up!!

Awesome trailcutterI have never written a product review, but after 8 months of researching trailcutters, I felt I needed to on this. I debated between the Swisher trailcutter and the other leading brand. In the end I went with Swisher and am glad I did. This thing is well-built, sturdy and plows through everything. I have about 80 acres that is mainly timber and a few acres of open grasslands that have not been maintained in years. The mower cleared the overgrown fields easily and is perfect for mowing trails through timber. The cutter was delivered crated, with very little assembly required, and shipping was hassle-free, with no additional fees. I purchased the 14.5 electric start, so all I had to do was add gas and a battery, and it fired right up. Thanks to Cabelas for finally carrying this item. Get this trailcutter you will not be disappointed!
