Sinks fastFor the money a good line- sinks really fast. The only problems are it kinks easily and the colors flake off. Use a counter and keep trolling!

Line twistI read the reviews about the lead breaking through the line after a few trips. I had the same problem and took it back to the Bass Pro shop. The tech in the fishing department told me it was line twist and I needed to use a better swivel. I switched from a standard barrel swivel to a ball bearing swivel. They don't cost that much more and are worth it. You should put a ball bearing swivel between the lead core and your leader and another at the lure to be double safe..... fish on!

GOOD LINEHave been using this on five different trolling reels since early spring.. Holds up great and have no problems. Am ordering
more in 27lb test to replace the 18lb I am currently using as I
want stronger line to pull spinner baits through tree branches.

Double edged swordThis line works great at catching fish! it sinks good and is strong but there is a drawback. The lead will start breaking and protruding through the braid after about the second fishing trip. It only gets worse from there. After five or six trips the first color will look (and act) like a porcupine. I am on my third spool now- can't quit using it because it catches fish just wish the lead was alloyed to make it stay in one piece.

Quality productI rigged a new trolling combo set with 15 lb Sufix lead core line and found that it performs well. Easy line release and pay out, good color pattern, no color bleed from wet line, and it is quick sinking. I caught 6 trout 13'' to 24'' on my first use of the line, and I plan to replace line on another line counter reel with this same product.

Be AwareTried my new line today. Seems to work OK however be careful as the colors bleed all over. I hope it washes out of my favorite shirt. It did wash off my hands but left a stain on the boat.
how do you add a fluorocarbon leader to the lead core line?

Tying the Lead Core
Step 1
Rub the end of the lead-core line in order to loosen the outer shell of the line. This outer shell is usually made from Dacron or some other braided line that covers the lead core.
Step 2
Pull back the braided line and break off several inches of the lead. This will leave a soft, flexible line that is easy to tie.
Step 3
Cut the end of the braided line so it is straight and there are no strands of line hanging freely. This is important as a frayed end of the line will weaken and could break during a battle with a large fish.
Step 4
Tie two overhand knots in the lead-core line above the empty shell of braided line. Do not tighten the knots; rather, keep them loose for the next step.
Step 5
Insert the monofilament leader into the braided shell or sheath until the monofilament leader touches the lead core. Position the two overhand knots over the monofilament leader that is inside the sheath and tighten the knots firmly. This strong connection will keep the monofilament leader

Has anyone had any luck stripping out lead and tying directly to a flouro or mono leader, or does everyone use a swivel?

I tie all Leaders (regardless of material) directly, to the main line. I use a Double Uni-knot. Never have had difficulty, with it.

Does lead diameter vary with lb. test rating
Does the amount to lead thickness (diameter) increase with higher lb. test rating lines, or does the lead thickness remain the same and only the polyester braid thickness increase?

The lead is what gives it its strength so I'm pretty sure that it would.
