My "Go to" swimbait.I rig this with a 5/0 weighted Trokar Magworm swimbait hook. It is now my only choice for a soft swimbait. My best and latest catch with this swimbait was a 7 lb largemouth fishing from shore at Lafayette, Georgia's city reservoir in NW GA, using a spinning reel and 50 lb braid with a fluoro leader. I am a believer in the capability of this lure.

Immediate SuccessSaw KVD use these on Outdoor Channel and thought it would be great for Striped/Hybrid Bass. The very first time I used Shadalicious (Ayu color) I caught my personal best Striped Bass (~15lbs). The action on this lure is insane!

Great swimbaitI bought the 5.5" and 3.5" baits in a variety of colors and love the action. So do the bass. Recommend these either with a slow erratic or steady swimming presentation.

Shadicious steadyI like these baits and they take a beating even from toothy northerns. Its one of my go to swim baits if it's slow to try to get some attention when they are ignoring the smaller swim baits.

ShadaliciousI picked up some 3.5" and 4.5" Green Gizzards at my local Bass Pro Shop. The action on the 4.5" is great - not so much on the 3.5". I was missing a lot of fish using weighted TwistLock hooks but remedied this with a simple weedless jighead (in place of an exposed-hook swimbait jighead). I love this setup for fishing areas where cranks and jerks would normally get snagged.

Good but fragileThese are great baits and account for a high percentage of my best fist. However they do tear up easily. I found a solution.
I use a weighted swimbait hook with a screw-in style keeper. With just about any fish, the keeper will pull out of the hollow head and make reuse difficult. I started cutting a slit in the belly about 1/2" behind the head and and sticking a 3/8" section of a finesse worm into the head. The right diameter worm will make the head a little wider, but it gives the keeper something to bite into instead of just the thin wall of the hollow head. Now my baits last considerably longer. Also you can create custom colors as the color of the worm usually bleeds through the plastic of the swimbait if you let them sit for a week or two.

...decent rubber feesh.....like...one thing about the 4.5" fishbaits is that they can take being brutalized by the "gators" and live to catch again and i am STILL catching on my very first bait... i have two flaves of the 4.5" blue gizzard shad and ghost shad though i didnt pay almost ten $kin$ for mine i found them for a mere $4.00 cha~chingg!!...ha~ha...St. Clair river ROCKS OUT...!!!!...
What type and size jig is recommended for the 5 1/2”swimbait

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. Per the manufacturer, rig on either an open jig head, internal swimbait head or with a weighted hook and fish with a slow, steady retrieve. Match the hook size to the bait’s size and you’ll be ready for big fish action!
