4 shots DownI am familiar with the Stoeger Condor so I talked myself into buying the 12ga model. The gun is a little heavy but it was expected. For the lease Friday evening in enough time to hunt doves. Four shots in the gun stopped firing. Switched to a different brand of ammo but still would not fire. Again, tried a 3rd brand. Same results. So, had the gun for two weeks and fired it four times and the gun was out of commission. Luckily I had a back up shotgun so the weekend was not a loss. Took back to Bass Pro and the only thing could do for me was send it in for repair. Gun was back in three weeks would a pretty turn around but have no clue what the problem was. No notes explaining anything. Very frustrating. Haven’t taken it out yet to test it. Hope it is fixed. Stoeger can be good guns for the price point but just be aware. Hopefully no more problems will occur and

May write another reviewThe clerk at Bass Pro M.B was very helpful and did a great job.
About the gun.
Price was good and the gun has a good feel. It does fire, however, it returns itself to safe mode in between the first and second shot (my guess is the recoil is causing this issue). I have contacted the manufacturer and am waiting on service. I have only put 100 rounds through it and the gun shoots fine other than that pesky safety engaging between shots. I would wait to purchase this gun unless you want to send it out for repair after the first use. Also I couldn't find any information in the box as to which chokes it came with.

Best bang for your buck with no problemsThis is my honest opinion from m real experience: This is my first over and under and I bought it on sale, also I was able to get an additional discount ( very nice from the Basspro team leader) since was the last one on display and has small scratch on the stock, paying only $339. After a recommended cleaning I start shooting traps since next day, So far I did 600 shoot with absolutely no problem at all. All my friends that owns the B's brands who paid around $2k were talking trash and making predictions that will falls apart in pieces when shooting and in reality I was shooting hand to hand with same scores as they had. There are few pro and cons.
Pro: Price is unbeatable, accuracy depend of you, 5 years warranty, customer services superb. Getting same day able to shoot next day.
Cons: weight is almost 1 Lb. more than what is specified. Hard to break in
The reliability is unknown,( I do not think I will shot more than 5000),
I do not want to include not having barrel selector, always shot bottom first since is only $300.
I will advise in MHO if you are Skid and trap shooter buy this model but is you are only shot traps the Longfowler model come with 30 inches barrel that is most suitable for traps and is same price

So Far SO GoodI have owned a Stoeger S/S Uplander for over 15 years with no problems and felt comfortable purchasing my O/U Stoeger Condor. Again so far so good, no problems other than one misfire and I am pretty sure it was the inexpensive ammunition as I can clearly see that the firing pin indenting the primer. Went off on the second try with no problems. The gun is just a good solid working firearm, nothing fancy or overly aesthetically pleasing but just a good basic gun. So far I am happy with it.

I trust my Stoeger. The internet seems to have a love/hate relationship with Stoeger shotguns.
And I can say I love mine. It goes boom every time you pull the trigger.
For hog hunting on WMA's, I load foster slugs top and bottom. She aims well and is accurate enough for a clean kill under 50 yards. The 20" barrel is great in the thick brush round these parts.
The chokes are screw in IC and M. Winchester or Beretta fit this shotgun, which is a nice feature.
#6 loads will stop a hassenfeffer dead in his tracks. The 20" barrel on my Outback swings fast. Great for rabbit or hogs, but I tend to miss birds. I recommend the longer barrel for birds or clays.
The walnut furniture is surprisingly nice for a gun at this price point. The bluing has held up very well in the few years I have owned this shotgun.

Great valueI bought this gun 5 years ago. I have put realistically 3-5000 shells through it and have NEVER had a problem.
This gun is a workhorse. I use it for everything from trap to ducks. It sits in the mud and rain and have never once had an issue.
When I bought the gun I paid $225 on sale and it was the single best firearm purchase I have ever made. The only drawback I would say {but cannot complain about due to the price} is the lack of auto shell ejectors on mine.
If anything ever did happen to mine I would be happy to pay the new price for another one. I consistently outshoot buddies with their $1000+ shot guns.
You will be very happy with this purchase.

Beginner O/UIf you "novice" hunter or clay shooter are looking for your first over under to purchase, this might be the right fit for you.
After having my gun in the smith two times due to problems with the pins not working correctly. I would not recommend this gun to someone who likes to have a reliable firearm.
I might have got the lemon of the bunch. In all fairness you get what you pay for, I shoot a lot at the range and on average a month ill throw 1000 rounds through my shotguns. This one lasted 2 months.
Hope this helps your decisions process.

Worst purchase ever.Bought one of these last year as a knockaround dove and quail gun that I can carry on the ATV. Haven't been able to get a full box of shell thru it in two years!!! Took it out dove hunting first time and the safety would go on after the first shot effectively making it a single shot. Stock came loose too. Sent it back. Took it out this year and it wouldn't cock after about five rounds. If I had my money back I'd buy a different gun.
Can this gun accept/use the Chiappa x-caliber adapter/inserts ??? ty...

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. While the Chiappa X-Caliber Gun Adapter Insert set claims to allow shooting the most popular centerfire pistol and shotguns cartridges through any SAAMI spec break-open 12GA shotgun, please contact the manufacturer before modifying any firearm to verify compatibility.

Condor double barrel which choke should be used for sluggs
Asked by: James 12345
Per Stoeger: These chokes are recommended for slugs:
4 notches = Improved cylinder
5 notches = Cylinder
A cylinder choke is recommended for shooting rifled slugs in a smooth-bore barrel. Sabot slugs should only be shot through our fully-rifled slug barrels.
It is not safe to shoot slugs through chokes tighter than those listed here.
Your shotgun would require a choke tube that specifies Winchester/Weatherby/Mossberg or Browning Invector.
Thank you for asking.

How do you id choke tubes, I have a condor 12 gauge over under, can't find the marking on the tubes
Asked by: Beaker
Thanks for your question. Stoeger provided the following information for their factory chokes:
What do the notches on the choke tubes mean?
The notches indicate the choke tube restriction. A lower notch count means more restriction (tighter). A higher notch count means less restriction.
1 notch = Full
2 notches = Improved modified
3 notches = Modified
4 notches = Improved cylinder
5 notches = Cylinder

Does the Condor 20 gauge have shell ejectors on the barrels?
Asked by: Flukeman
Thank you for your question. No, it has extractors instead of ejectors. It pushes them out a bit, but you have to manually pull the fired shells out.
