Springfield Armory® XD-S Mod.2 Semi-Auto Pistol is a slim, trim, ergonomically designed semi-automatic handgun meant for concealed carry use. To enhance concealability, the pistol utilizes a single-stack magazine that dramatically decreases the width of the grip frame, and the slide has also been slimmed down from previous models. The XD-s Mod.2 features Springfield's GripZone™ frame that optimizes pointability and shooting control to get you on target quickly and stay on target during rapid fire. Three different textures are molded into specific parts of the grip where slip-resistance is most critical. Springfield Armory incorporated the High-Hand™ grip relief and High-Hand beavertail on the Mod.2 to position the hand as high as possible toward the bore, reducing the pistol's felt recoil. Posi-wedge slide serrations provide a solid hold on the slide when loading and or clearing the weapon. The dimensional changes applied to the XD-S Mod.2 design maintain compatibility with original XD magazines and holsters. A steel, tactical-rack, serrated rear sight and a fiber-optic front sight enhance quick target acquisition. The XD-S Mod.2 Semi-Auto Pistol has a durable polymer frame, and a steel slide and barrel with a Melonite® finish for long-lasting durability. A loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator give both visual and tactile indication of whether the gun is loaded, no matter the lighting condition. Fieldstrips easily without tools.
