Springfield Armory® XD-E™ is a slim, trim, ergonomically designed semi-auto pistol for concealed carry use, that uses a hammer instead of the original, striker-fired XD pistols. Compared to a striker-fired pistol, the hammer-fired XD-E requires much less effort to rack the slide for loading or clearing the weapon. The double/single-action trigger on the XD-E also allows you to fire the gun instinctively in double-action, or with deliberate, precise aim in single-action mode. An ambidextrous, thumb safety allows you to carry the pistol cocked and locked, and it also serves a decocker. A single-stack magazine dramatically increases the concealability of the pistol by decreasing the width of the grip frame. A durable polymer frame with GripZone® provides a solid, non-slip hold; while Point and Shoot Ergonomics™ gets you on target instantly. The forged steel slide with a Melonite® coating resist wear and corrosion. An articulated safety lever is built into the trigger blade. The fiber-optic front sight and white-dot rear sight provide rapid sight acquisition in dim or bright lighting.
