The Smith & Wesson® GOVERNOR® Double-Action Revolver combines power and versatility by utilizing a wide range of ammunition: .45 Colt, .45 ACP, and .410 shotshells. The GOVERNOR is equally useful for urban self-defense, bear protection, shooting small game for camp meat, and informal target practice. With a main frame made of lightweight Scandium alloy, the GOVERNOR weighs no more than a standard service revolver, and has proved exceptionally pleasant to carry and shoot. The matte black finished Scandium alloy frame and a stainless steel cylinder and barrel provide corrosion resistance and low maintenance for prolonged holster carry while hiking and camping in the backcountry. A dovetailed Tritium night sight up front lines up quickly in the fixed notch rear sight to give you rapid sight acquisition in any lighting—even total darkness. A synthetic rubber grip provides a sure hold in any weather, and helps to absorb recoil. True to all Smith & Wesson revolvers, the GOVERNOR has an excellent trigger, with a smooth, non-stacking double-action pull, and a single-action pull that breaks clean and crisp. Six .45 ACP cartridges can be loaded and ejected at once with the included 6-round full moon clips; Smith & Wesson also supplies 2-round clips, to allow loading .45 ACP cartridges in pairs for a mixing several kinds of ammunition.
