Shimano Stradic FK Spinning Reel
The Shimano® Stradic® FK Spinning Reel incorporates the latest Shimano technology while retaining the high-performance features that Stradic reels have always been known for. This is a smooth, powerful, incredibly durable reel that will easily match up to any quarry in freshwater, as well as inshore saltwater. Its ultra-hard Hagane® cold forged drive gear combines with the X-Ship pinion gear-support concept to ensure perfect gear mesh at all times, for unflinchingly smooth control even under heavy loads. The sleek G-Free Hagane body prevents flex during the fight while maintaining superb balance, to keep hand fatigue out of the picture. 6 S A-RB shielded stainless steel ball bearings (plus 1 Super Stopper II Anti Reverse roller bearing) are backed by the high-efficiency Propulsion Line Management System. Additional performance features include vibration-eliminating Dyna-Balance®, efficiency increasing Fluidrive® II, line twist-reducing Power Roller II, SR-Concept, and friciton-reducing Aero Wrap® II. 5000 size is equipped with a power handle.

Replacement reelDidn't have a lot of time to research this reel, as it was a replacement for an Abu-Garcia reel that was non functioning when I received it. It is a basic reel, and smooth enough. I've put a lot of miles on it since I got it and is still doing good.

Best I ownI bought this after buying the Ultriga By shimono. I was extremely impressed with both. Having owned Sendonas, Saharas, before I wanted to see the difference in Higher end equipment. This reel had the most noticeable difference in weight. which I found to translate to sensitivity, and less fatigue. Having fished it for a little over a month now it is my go to for finesse fishing. I would get rid of three other reels to buy 2 more of these.

Right priceI have quite a few shimano reels both Bates cast and spin cast and I think they are the best reels money can buy. This reel will be used in Alaska for salmon fishing both on and off shore. Will post pic a season end.

YupIn the past I haven't seen the benefits of higher end spinning reels. Recently I purchased an ultrega on a special that , made it less than a sahra. it changed my mind. Once I saved enough points to get this reel for about the same price it was a no brainer. Smooth, comfortable and solid. This reel has given me the confidence and comfort when fishing finesse presentation's that I had gotten away from because of less then comfortable equipment. my only regret is not spend a few more dollars to get the CI4+. I would by this reel at full price.

Strong & DependableMatched this reel with a XH St. Croix rod and found that the control with this reel was amazing, providing the drag is set correctly. Drag system is definitely top notch. Best of all, you can fish in the rain all day and water doesn't affect it. Can't imagine using any other reel at this price range.

Second ReviewWell, this is my second review the first being in October 2017. Now I consider the reel still decent quality for Salmon and Steelhead but the 4000 series doesn't have the line capacity I need so I'll recommend the 5000 series for Salmon. The reason I've dropped this to 3 stars from 4 is the darn thing stiffens up when it gets wet every time and I have to send it back to Shimano for a service. Hey this is a fishing reel it's supposed to get wet! Most Shimano's I've owned are plagued with this issue, Why? Now for a quality product I don't mind paying the cost so I recommend that Shimano improve on this issue or dramatically lower the price.
I would like to hear your suggestion about what is the most suitable model of Shimano Stradic FK Spinning Reel to be paired with my new 6.6" Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod - Medium Power/Action for top water fishing (poppers and others)? Saltwater inshore
Asked by: MATAGS
With line weight on your rod being 6-14 pounds, you may have the best luck with the 2500 size reel. Thank you for asking.

Does the Stradic 3000 FK have an Antic Reverse Switch ?
I like the reel to go backwards to fight a fish instead of using the DRAG.
Do any of the current Shimano Stradic reels have the Anti-Reverse ?
Asked by: CaptKen70
Hi, the Shimano Stradic FK Spinning Reel has a Super Stopper II Anti Reverse roller bearing. The super stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way roller bearing that eliminates back-play. This provides the angler with instant hook setting power.
Thank you

What is the difference between the FK and the CI4+?
Asked by: Fisher145
Ci4+ is a lighter reel. Stradic FK will have more resistance to elements where the Ci4+ will be a lighter reel with still strong element resistances.
