Description
Shimano Stradic CI4+ FB Spinning Reel
One of the world's most popular high-performance reels gets a significant upgrade. The Shimano® Stradic® CI4+ FB Spinning Reel incorporates the latest Shimano technology while retaining all the performance features that serious anglers count on. Its super-light, strong CI4+ carbon body and cold-forged aluminum spool are now joined by Shimano's Magnumlite Rotor, which is 25% lighter than previous styles. This affords incredible balance and reduces efficiency-robbing inertia by 22%, resulting in an almost-effortless feel whenever you wind the handle. In addition, the Stradic's G-Free Body design places the center of gravity closer to the rod, for amazing comfort with minimal fatigue; meanwhile, the roller, clutch, and body now feature CoreProtect for superior water resistance without the "heavy rotation" feeling common in other treated reels. Meanwhile, this reel is all Stradic: a smooth, powerful, incredibly durable reel that will easily match up to any quarry in freshwater, as well as inshore saltwater. Its ultra-hard Hagane® cold forged drive gear combines with the X-Ship pinion gear-support concept to ensure perfect gear mesh at all times, for unflinchingly smooth control even under heavy loads. 6 S A-RB shielded stainless steel ball bearings (plus 1 Super Stopper II anti-reverse roller bearing); advanced AR-C spool design plus Power Roller; 1-Piece Bail for unimpeded line flow.

disappointedI have been a fan of Shimano but they have declined. After fewer than 4 outings the bail won't close and the line wraps around body of the spool. Should have learned after my last shimano siezed up after less than one year. Time to try another brand.

Not at Shimono StandardsNever thought I'd get a Shimono that had issues. Probably own five or six. Bought this Shimono as a backup when outposting. No tackle shop within 300 miles.
It sticks when you attempt to reel in. Went back to that goofy reel handle. Similar to ones sold years and years ago. Liked the simple change the shaft to the other side without the handle be floppy and a pain to work with.
Wished I would have taken it back.

Silky smoothMy wife has been using one of these for a few months, had a problem with another brand so I got a 2500. This has to be the quietest smoothest reel I have ever used.

Not at Shimono StandardsReel sticks when you attempt to reel in line. Once it frees itself it is fantastic but a pain in the butt to get it to reel in at first.

Excellent ReelHigh quality reel, smooth and reliable... it’s my second one. The 1000 is a great reel for smallmouth fishing - line capacity is just right.

Shimano has gone downhillI have been buying Shimana Stradic reels for over 20 years and have seen their quality go down and their price went up. This latest model Stradic is the worst yet. I will never buy another Stradic as a result. Eventhough I take very good care of my equipment, the drag had to be replaced within the year. Then the handle froze up. This reel is poorly constructed. I would not recommend it.
Can I pair with a Lew’s Carbon Fire Speed Stick CF610MC 6’ 10”?

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. A spinning reel is not compatible with a casting rod.

where is the anti reverse switch located at ?
Asked by: Buzzbait1
Thanks for your question. The Shimano Stradic CI4+ utilizes a Super Stopper II anti-reverse roller bearing but does not have an anti-reverse switch.

What does the hgfb mean
Asked by: RDavis
Hi, per the manufacturer, the “HG” stands for high gear. Referencing the gear ratio on that model. The “FB” is the generation. That is the newest one followed by the “FA” and “F”
Thank you

Hi, i want to buy the stradic ci4: STCI44000XGFB. I cannot choose the retrieve/handle left right. I want the left handle and i cannot choose it. Thank you to let me understand :)
Asked by: Markymark1
Stradic CI4 - STCI44000XGFB handle is reversible. You just unscrew the handle in a counter clockwise motion and do the same for the cap on the other side of the reel and move the handle over. Once moved over you screw it in with a clockwise motion until it tightens. Same with the cap that you will move to the other side.

On a CI4+ FB STRSDIC REEL, what does the FB stand for?
Asked by: Fl fisherman
FB is the model number. As Shimano updates the reel they change the FB -> FC -> FD. It helps identify which generation reel you have.

Are the spools inter-changeable with earlier models of this reel?
Asked by: Old Tireman
It is not suggested to use spools from earlier models.
