Rule Bailwell Motor ReplacementI installed one of these Rule Baitwell motors and it didn't take long for it to leak. Can't seem to get answers from anyone on whether silicone sealant, O-rings, gaskets are needed or these are just junk.

Rule fault or mine?Have had 2 rule livewell pumps in boat (new in 1998). They worked excellent until they both died of a ruptured internal cartridge. Probably my fault for not having a screen on it. It just split wide open exposing the internal electrics. I tried a Johnson w/ a screen this time. Maybe it will stay together

Pump foreverexcellent pump. only problem, no screen to keep large particles out of the pump. I made one out of a 16" pvc pipe. No need to ever replace motor now.
