Great fit on 1970s WoodmasterI have the 12 ga. rifled barrel with cantilever mount and scope. Definitely replace the scope and rings before you even shoot it. The scope was all over the place. The Leupold Ultimate Slam scope is an awesome combo with their PRS rings.
The barrel fits tight on a 1970s 870 Wingmaster with zero play. It looks a little like a Frankenstein shotgun with gloss blue receiver and matte black barrel, but it shoots consistent 1"-1.5" groups at 100 yards with 2-3/4" Accutip slugs.
I highly recommend.

Poor scoprHaving just purchased this 2 weeks ago, I got the rifled barrel and scope combo for the up coming Illinois deer season, I attempted to sight it in today at 100 yards. I was shooting 2 3/4 slugs and right out of the box I was shooting low and way left. I attempted to adjust the scope over the course of 10 rounds without luck. Even worse, the lens closest to my eye started to crack at the edge. It appears that the scope is unable to hold up to the recoil of the shotgun. The barrel seems Ok. No problems mating up to my 870 express. Needless to say, I will be testing the return policy of Cabelas and how well Remington stands behind their products

Extremely Accurate BarrelI bought the Remington 870 12 gauge rifled cantilever slug barrel as an alternative to a "knock off" brand that I couldn't sight in even after trying many different sabot slugs. To sight in the Remington 870 with the Remington barrel, I tried 4 different
2 3/4" inch slugs at 50 meters and wanted to be about 2" high so that for the 100 meter range I would be close to the bullseye.
Before the range session, I bore sighted the 870. Believe it or not, all groups were 2" or less with all 4 brands of slugs. I can't wait for the 2017 firearm deer season here in Michigan! Over the years, I have learned that each slug gun has certain slugs they like. In my case, I can use any 1 of the 4 brands I tried.

I have a Winchester 870 Wingmaster with s/n 949819X with a 2 /3/4" chamber. Is it possible to put a rifled slug barrel on this gun? If i can, can you please tell me what model number / part number barrel I need.

What are the differences between deer, fully riffled, and riffled sights? Is the fully riffled code the only barrel that is riffled? Do they all have riffle sights?
