How warm?
Would this be a good jacket to wear in temperatures in the mid 30-s? I usually wear a shirt and fleece sweatshirt underneath it. Should I order one size larger to accommodate the under layer?

The temperature ranges for jackets are going to be subjective based on conditions and your general tolerance to cold temps. This jacket, layered with a shirt and fleece as you stated, should do well in the temperatures that you listed. You could certainly consider going up a size if your other layers are very thick or if you're already at the larger end of the size range that you would normally order.
