Second to noneI have three Reconyx HC500's. Two were purchased in 2011 and one in 2013. By far the best camera's I have ever owned. Previous to the Reconyx purchases, I had other manufacturers cameras, that I was never happy with, and after purchasing the Reconyx brand I will never change. The images are crystal clear and the speed of the trigger, is possibly the fastest on the market. Doesn't matter what comes into view, but you will get continued pictures in non-blurred fashion from the moment the animal enters the motion detection area to when it exits, if you have the setting set to food plot, which is how I have my cameras always set to.
On December 3, 2018, I contacted Reconyx, as I noticed that pictures taken during the dark hours were only picking up eyes and no images past more than 3 feet, whereas they used to produce fabulous nighttime pictures out to around 60 feet or better. The Reconyx representative told me to mail the cameras to them and they would test them to see what was wrong, and would let me know once all three were tested and diagnosed. On December 10, 2018 they contacted me via phone and told me with the latest technology they could replace the day/night exchanger and update the Illumination portion, which was not available and designed for the model years I purchased, for $ 50.00 for each camera. I agreed to the changes and when my cameras were mailed back to me on December 14, 2018 I was amazed. The work order included other items changed, such as battery terminals, battery harnesses, gaskets, and firmware as well, at no additional charge. The also included a Reconyx baseball hat in the box.
Not only are my Reconyx camera's the best I have ever owned, I am not sure ever in my life, have I been treated so professionally and courteously as I was with the representative I spoke to twice. Customer service alone more than justifies the costs of their cameras. Trust me,,,, as you will never go wrong by purchasing a Reconyx Camera. BTW, this is the first review I have EVER written for anything or anyone on the internet.

Great Camera Made in the USA!!This camera is phenomenal. The video's it takes are like watching something on TV. I tried the camera (twice!) that sends the pictures to your phone and/or computer and that didn't work out. I don't mind pulling the cards and looking at what is visiting day and night at the farm. I have 2 of these of in operation and they work perfectly. Obviously higher priced but the old adage you get what you pay for proves its self time and time again.

Great Camera!I have spent hundreds if not thousands on trail cameras in the last 4 years. I got tired of them not working as advertised so I bit the bullet and purchased a couple of Reconyx PC-800's. A few hundred thousands photo later they are still kicking butt. The only thing missing was video and audio. When this camera came out I was the first one in or hunt club to buy one and I couldn't be more happy. Despite the complaints about this camera using up your memory card this is to be expected if you want high quality images and video. SD cards are cheap so go ahead and buy a larger card so you can appreciate the high quality images and video you will only get from this camera. One more note, Reconyx has great customer service and their cameras are made in the USA.

Awesome Camera!I have only good things to say about this camera! The video is amazing and takes great stills during the day time. Night shots are for the most part ok considering it's dark. The settings are easy to navigate and the battery life really took me by surprise. Using lithiums, after 4 months the battery levels are still full even at cold temperatures.
I live in Alberta and the camera has seen temperatures on average of -10 C and the coldest of -27C and the camera worked as it should. Note: At -27 C the battery levels showed they were low, but when I warmed the camera up in my truck they went back to full. Reconyx cameras are in a league of their own.

Great Trail CameraI purchased this trail camera because of the good reviews and because all of my other trail cameras (from different manufacturers) were experiencing problems after only one or two years of light use. I used the UltraFire camera almost continually for two months in temperatures ranging from 20-60 degrees and during several heavy rain storms with absolutely no problems. The daytime pictures and videos are excellent. Night time pictures and videos are good.
This trail camera is very expensive and for this amount of money, it should come with an automatic scent dispenser and a remote controlled grunt call.

Not yetI am a big reconyx user and was excited to see the new one. I bought one and in my usual fashion did a test against my multiple trial cameras. This camera missed many shots and was surprisingly slow. I sent it back. Stick to the awesome hc600 for now.

dropped the ballI am a huge fan of Reconyx cameras and have 10 HC600 cameras and 4 of their older green cameras. The HC600's are hands down the best trail camera made. They have unbelievable battery life and lots of time I will go through 40-50,000 photos on one charge. However this new camera Xr6 has brutal battery life - batteries were dead after 4,000 photos. Thought maybe this was because of the video function so tried it just on photos and was the same. Reconyx has dropped the ball on this one and I would not recommend it to anyone. I am sticking with the HC600 and will be looking for a diff. maker now that they have come up with such a brutal camera.
