Superb newby trout plug from Rapala! As a long time Rapala product user I was intrigued when this lure was released so I bought a few. The results have been extremely positive. This lure's action is a little different from the typical Rapala minnow (Original Floating, Countdown): it has a more rapid, vibrating wiggle that combines with its bright finishes to create an extremely attractive presentation to fish. Durability and quality of the hooks seem to be excellent. I trolled this lure on lead core line for Lake Trout in Ontario and the Rapala Ultra Light Minnow definitely outproduced all of my favourite trolling spoons! I suspect it would also be excellent for Brook Trout in clear lakes, trolled with spinning gear and a couple of split shot for weight. My favourite colours are the Silver and Gold options.

Great Trout LureI saw one of these in the rainbow trout color and I though, "that should work" so I picked one up. And boy did it ever work! I had it out yesterday not really expecting much from it because I hadn't used Rapala's for trout before. I was fishing a stillwater reservoir and this thing in the 06 size on an UL setup was AMAZING! I also used the pink clown color in the 04 size and that worked just as well. If you're fishing for trout, don't hesitate to pick up a couple of these dandy's! It was not very windy, so not sure how they will perform on a windier day, but on a calm one, these things cast a lot further than you might expect from such a lightweight lure

Great lureI unfortunately only bought one, and I was trolling in the lake just letting the lure out and a large trout grabbed it and took off. We lost that fish and he took the lure. It was incredible how quickly the lure was taken as we haven't had that in this lake before. We are ordering 5 more!! They will be on stronger line!

Very effective for large trout in streamThis lure is great for large trout in streams. The gold and silver colors are most effective. The lure seemed to work best in faster water.

Excellent stream lureHave caught many large Smallmouth with this lure.
Great sharp hooks that aren't too small. Since large fish hit this lure the hook size helps to get solid hookups. It's very easy to cast and has a nice tight action.
It also catches every other fish that swims in the stream too. Great all around lure that's easy to fish with.
I fish farm ponds and it gets murky when the farmers do their thing. What color should I get?

The most fundamental rule is to fish brightly colored baits in dingy or muddy water and light, subtle colors in clear water.
