Rated 1 out of 5 by JamesD23 from terrible quality and rapala customer service I bought these pliers a couple months ago but only used a few times. The spring (metal piece) fell out , the pliers rust in certain areas and scratch very easily. Supposed to be stainless but maybe just stainless coated? I contacted Rapala directly for a replacement or for new spring and they stated that "they do not have a replacement spring available and thank your for your understanding." Garbage for $16 plus tax.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rainman2 from Saltwater use pliers The large size pliers works as intended, especially useful for the toothy critters found in the ocean...ling cod, sharks, etc. Big enough to do the job, small enough to not be bulky. I do wish Rapala would send/include a leather sheath or holster of some kind with the pliers. Be a big upgrade. The "stainlessness" of these pliers is about as good as can be expected, with a little care they will last a lifetime or 3......

I like the slit ring but I've lost confidence in this product considering that the paint is already coming off with one days use.

After only a few uses, one of the plastic handles became loose and now wiggles around in my hand when i try to use them. I'm not sure if this is a common problem or I just picked up a pair that did not contain enough glue to bond the handle to the metal. Not what I expected from a $16 pair of pliers!
