You would want to purchase the size you wear in a jacket, it is sized to go over so you do not need to go up in size.

Where are the ammo loops?
In the picture it looks loke the ammo loops are up on the chest. Are there also ammo loops in the pockets? And are they rifle sized or shot shell sized?

Thank you for your inquiry. There are no ammo loops in the pockets on this vest.The ammo loops are a total of 6" long, 3" high and they are spaced 1" apart and 1 1/2" tall.
