Be CarefulIf you want a three-bank charger, then make sure you get the ProMariner 20. Based on the website recommendation, I compared to a different model for $40 less, could not tell any difference, and ordered the ProMariner 12. Alas, it was a only two-bank charger in reality. I replaced a previous ProMariner 20 that I apparently lost to lightning (no strike nearby, but apparently enough to get past my GFI and zap the electronics. I had to move this unit left to accommodate the wiring (now exits on right) but otherwise easy to install.

Good purchaseJust installed on my boat and the only complaint I have is the mounting holes are very small I had use small phillips head screws to be able to mount it. Other than that worked great.
What is the meaning of the red and green leds flashing sequentially (one after the other), when the maintainer / charger is connected to a battery? I measured the battery voltage prior to connect it - it shows 9.80 Vdc.

The 1.5 Maintainer is designed to maintain a fully charged battery between uses. it is usually used to maintain a battery during long-term storage. The voltage on the battery is too low for the maintainer and it sees this as a fault. If you fully charge the battery and connect the 1.5amp Maintainer it should be fine. Is this considered a FLOAT CHARGER? (will it shut down when fully charged so I can leave it plugged in for four weeks without fear of over cooking with a constant trickle charger).

Will this charge a AGM battery
Asked by: hype
Hi, per the manufacturer, the ProMariner ProSport 1.5 Amp Battery Maintainer and Charger, SKU: 2356336, no. This is to maintain an already fully charged battery. If the battery is already fully charged this will output up to 1.5 amps just to maintain the battery at its full charge float voltage level. The battery must not have any load on it. (Like maintaining a car battery for several weeks while the owner is away.) It will not work if the battery were connected to a bilge pump, for example.
