Bearings failedI bought on of these in June It has about 25 hours of fishing on it . The bearings inside the reel started to make noises. I oiled them and it went away for a couple of hours. The noise has come back and the bearings are on their way out, The 2 bearings in the handle just failed and then froze up. I soaked them in oil for a few minutes and got them to spin again but with a bumpy feeling. The bearings in this reel are sub par. I read the previous reviews and bought one. I just called bass pro and will return this reel. If you are a bass fisherman and cast a lot do not get this reel. it will not last.

Passed the acid test !!!The XT20 has performed flawlessly in the surf. Catching Corbina and Surf Perch with 6lb braid. Deep cleaning showed no signs of salt water making it's way inside. Excellent reel.

Best Pflueger EverBest reel, for the best price, I own a President, Supreme XT, and a Patriarch. I like all of them, but the President XT is just the way to go. It handles weeds, lunkers, and whatever mother nature throws at it. Unlike some reels the bigger, it is it still stays the same smoothness. Not to mention a phenomenal cork handle and a
braid-ready-spool.

Broken Bail SpringI bought 4 of these reels 2Presidents and 2 Supreme xt in 2016. As you all know the Presidents are good reels just a little heavy. TheSupreme XT is also nice until they don't work. The bail springs break and the warranty's out of date with little use. ( two weeks in Canada) Over all the reels are not bad. The coverage SUCKS. Shame on you Pflueger.

First Pflueger spinning reelI have had previous experience only with Pflueger bait cast reels. I decided to try one of their spinning reels. I have used it several times so far mostly casting plastic worms for bass. It is very smooth and worked great without any malfunctions. If I find something I like, I tend to stick with it for a few years. I purchased this reel with that thought in mind. I will check back in several months to update my experience. So far, so good!

Does what its supposed to...wellHonestly a powerhouse, ive hauled in musky and bass alike with it and it handles both extremely well. I have it paired with a 6'6 st croix avid in medium heavy and everyone is always asking to borrow it! (The answer is always no)

on the pflueger president ive went thru 4 reels this year cause of water damage to the reel does the pflueger president XT have a better reel for the water damage or no ?

I’m looking into this reel for a 6’6’ medium action pole. I’ll be mainly be using this for bass fishing with crank baits and other hard baits. What would be the best reel for this pole?

I would recommend the size 35 reel but the size 30 would also work. I would not fish too big of a crankbaits on a med action spinner though. For most bass sized crankbaits a good baitcasting combo like the bass pro carbonlite or the pro qualifier would be a better choice without breaking the bank.
