Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel
Lighter and smoother than ever, the popular Pflueger® President® XT Spinning Reel delivers superior quality within its price class. Day in and day out, this reel provides extreme comfort and balance, thanks in part to its aluminum main shaft, which is 30% lighter than stainless steel, and aluminum pinion gear, which is an astonishing 60% lighter than a traditional brass gear. The President XT is also equipped with a carbon handle that is stronger and weighs 21% less than aluminum; its lightweight rubber cork handle knob offers exceptional gripping power in all weather conditions. Its quality 10-bearing system (Note: the 20 size has a 7-bearing system) features corrosion-resistant stainless steel ball bearings plus instant anti-reverse, and the sealed drag keeps water and grit from getting in, so it always stays perfectly lubricated and smooth at all settings. Pflueger has equipped this reel with a braid-ready spool that allows direct-tie—no need for backing. With its many enhancements, the President XT remains one of the best values on the water.

Does not cast wellI bought a pflueger this spring for my bi annual Canada Trip and I like the real except for casting I use 12 lb sufix 832 line and it gets caught in the bail every time I cast very disappointed in this all other features if you are not casting are fine

Nice, smooth reel.I bought the 30X last spring and used it a handful of times on three different rods, finally leaving it on my favourite collapsible travel rod. Always found it smooth and reliable, and never had a problem with it.
Just a shame that I lost it off the back of my Harley on the Duffey Lake Road, but I'll be replacing it just as soon as I find another travel rod I like.

Broke after 3 monthsThe handle started to get loose after a few uses, now the thread is stripped and it can't be screwed back so the reel is not usable anymore !

Smooth Reel and Excellent Customer ServiceI bought Summit XT at BassPro last year and it soon became my primary reels due to its size and smoothness. Unfortunately, it become stiff after pulling so many fishes. The customer service department is professional and awesome. They replaced the reel with President XT. They are very similar and maybe just branded differently. Both are quality reels with proper cares.
Fishing Walleye's which reel should I choose for a medium rod.

on the pflueger president ive went thru 4 reels this year cause of water damage to the reel does the pflueger president XT have a better reel for the water damage or no ?
