The Otis Ripcord® Gun Cleaning Cord is a very practical and useful piece of shooting gear that's easy to carry in the field, providing the ability to clean a firearm's bore with minimum effort. The Ripcord is made from a molded rubberized core with a braided Nomex® outer layer that acts as both a brush and a patch. The helix-shaped rubberized core keeps the Nomex cleaning surface pressed into the rifling to ensure an aggressive, thorough cleaning. The Ripcord is rigid enough to insert through the bore without the need to gravity feed. The Otis Ripcord Gun Cleaning Cord is equipped with 8-32 threaded ends to fit all Otis cleaning components.

Seems to Work Thus FarPurchased this on sales at the local Cabela's retail outlet. I wanted a quick clean solution for the range that was easy to carry along with the rifle. I have only used it a couple time thus far and it seems to do the job.

Very nice Bore SnakeThis product pretty much works like one would expect, and it cleans a 5.56mm bore well. The tension while pulling it through is VERY tight but it gets the job done!

Quick CleanI use my RipCord for quick clean ups in the field. It has taking a beating & still works great. It's easy to clean w/soap & water plus it's machine washable. I keep one with every rifle.

needs improvementDoes well cleaning barrel, but a bit to small for the cylinders.. I purchased three...22 LR, 38spl/9mm and 45 ACP all are disappointing...

Easier than a Bore SnakeI bought one of these 9mm from a display at Cabelas. I thought it would be a similar product to the Bore Snakes I've used for years
These are much stiffer and shorter than the Bore Snake.
These make a quick run through cleaning at the range easier than before, so I'm glad I bought this.
