Great BUYThis rod has the durability, back bone, and sensitivity to get the job done. I fought a 100lb Tarpon for an hour on this rod pair with a Penn 6000 with 30lb braid. The rod has taken a beating and has held strong. I suggest this rod. Keep it simple from Elite Saltwater Anglers Florida (esaflorida.com).

Excellent RodI couldn't be happier with this purchase. Purchased on sale paired with a Penn Fierce II. I run 15lb braid w/ 20 lb leader for all my inshore fishing in South Carolina. this rod and reel combo has no issues reeling in 30"+ reds, sheephead, trout. You name it, this combo performs! Photo shows fish caught on this rod.

Good Rod For The MoneyI am a inshore charter captain who has standardized. on St. Croix Mojo Inshore Extreme rods for my charter business. My local Bass Pro fishing department associated talked me into trying this new rod this summer. I was not at all sold on the rod using a 7 foot medium heavy model. I matched it up with a new Penn 5000 Battle II reel with 20lbs Inshore Angler Tight Line Mono. My charter customers loved the set up and I was amazed how well the rod held up on about 80 charter trips this summer. The rod held up from 30 inch plus Bluefish, 5 lbs Flounder and it's biggest test of the summer a 30lbs ray. I was amazed how well it held up and I can say for the money you will not find a better rod for the money. My customers loved the rod and it caught a lot of fish this summer. I will be buying another one or two this spring!

Broke itI bought it for using in the marsh creeks at Pawleys Island NC.
2nd fish I caught with it was a flounder not much larger than my hand.
Set the hook on it and the tip snapped completely in half about 1 1/2 foot from the tip.
Took it back to MB BASS PRO and got a St Croix MOJO inshore instead.
Great customer service.

Excellent quality and appearanceI bought one of these in the medium heavy class to add to my arsenal of inshore saltwater rods. I paired it with a Quantum Cabo PT 40 spinning reel spooled with 15 lb. test diamond braid in blue. I solved the problem of a lack of a hook holder on the rod with a Fuji EZ Keeper. This is a well balanced and stout outfit that should handle anything in the bay that wants to take a chance with me. It is also a very nice looking combo. I'll find out if it is up to the task in a few weeks.

Nice RodThe light rod in this line is a medium action and the heavier rod is a medium heavy. I have 2 of the med-hvy versions. The optimum lure weight for this rod is about 3/4oz and it really flings a lure of this weight well. Casting a 1.5oz lure really flexes the rod excessively and it plainly doesn't like it much. If you cast 1.25oz and heavier lures regularly, get a rod with 1oz as the low end of the recommended weights. If your lures are 1/2 to 1 oz, it's a very nice rod.

Great light ocean rodI love these rods. Very happy with the responsiveness. Feels sensitive but strong when it needs to be. I can feel the little nibbles even in the waves and have pulled in a pretty heavy fish without concern. There may be a reason to spend more on a 7' in this weight class, but I don't know what it is yet.
Site says Medium Power, no action. My assumption is Medium Power, Fast Action.
Can anyone confirm or deny?
I've read a few reviews that said they were staggered power depending on line weight. Does that mean they are different when it comes to action? More toward Moderate?
Asked by: reddskinnfan
It is a fast. They are not labeled as such but if you bend the rod at the tip it is definitely not a moderate action, and looks like any other fast action. Works great for artificial and topwaters.
