Questions & Answers
We only have two 12 volt batteries in our boat now but plan on adding a third one when we upgrade our trolling motor. Can we use the three bank charger now before we add the third battery?
Asked by: George Sc
Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. A battery has to be connected to each bank for the charger to work properly.

How many amps needed for a boat with two banks to maintain
Asked by: Tidewater 17
To effectively charge a battery you will need an 8.5 amp charger or more. Lets say you have 3 of the Group 24 batteries. This means you will need a charger with at least 25.5 amps. In a case like this, it is OK to round up to 30 and get a 30 amp charger

what is the best type of charger for a deep cycle marine battery
Asked by: fritzer
According to our One-Source pros:
The ProMariner Pro Tournament Elite is a top of the line boat battery charger of the sort used in many top-end bass boats as original equipment. The largest model can charge up to four batteries at once. Pro Mariners feature charging at rates 2 to 3 times faster than less expensive models for a full charge during a short tournament overnight. They're smaller and lighter than many models, and a forced induction cooling system cools them during the fast-charge model. LED monitors report charge levels at a glance, and a push to test button gives battery power percentage. It's an investment, but one that will pay dividends for any serious tournament angler who fishes multi-day events as well as for guides and charter-skippers.
