Smooth multidisc drag system. 2 stainless steel ball bearings. 15 and 20 sizes have a stainless steel dual-paddle handle with oversized soft-touch knobs. 30 and 45 sizes feature a counterbalanced machined-aluminum handle with single oversized knob.

Don't purchase!I bought 2 - DM III 15 Reels - neither worked from day 1! Lock up when trying to release the free spool lever. Should have returned immediately! I guess you get what you pay for.

Worse reels I have ever boughtFirst one busted with first use! 2nd one on 4th trip out. sounds like they marbles floating inside and you have to crank 2 turns EVEN WHEN BRAND NEW to get the spool to unlock. Never seen anything like it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

GarbageNever worked right from day 1. Wouldn't feed line off even with the spool tension right loose. Drag is either non existent or completely locked up with the smallest adjustment. Going to try the metal version this summer and see if its better
Which depthmaster reel would work best with lead core line?

It's a matter of preference, but please contact your local Bass Pro or Cabelas Retail Store and ask to speak to the Fishing Dept. and they would be able to go in depth with everything. Also they may have some that the online division don't carry since some depending on the location.
