Arrow deflectsLast year I shot a buck from a tree stand. The deer was quartering away, about 20 yards. I hit it just behind the right shoulder. The deer ran about 80 yards before falling down and dying. When I dressed out the deer I found that the arrow had changed course after hitting the rib cage. It angled up, into the front left shoulder. I thought it was a fluke that the arrow didn't stay on course.
Two weeks ago I shot another buck. This time I was sitting on a bucket amongst the branches of a fallen oak tree. This deer was almost broadside, angling slightly toward me, about 25 yards away. My arrow hit just behind the left front leg, middle of the rib cage. The deer ran off but left a fine spray of blood on the snow. It traveled about 120 yards before dying. If it weren't for the snow I don't know if I would have found the deer. The entry wound was the only source of blood. When I dressed out the deer I discovered that the arrow took a left turn after going through the rib cage. After nipping the lung it cut through the liver and stomach before entering the right hind quarter, cutting all the way to the knee. When I skinned out the buck I saw that the hind quarter was badly damaged, much sliced and bloodshot meat. I salvaged about half of it.
I won't use another broadhead where the blades fold backward on impact. I'm going with a hybrid-mechanical blade that opens forward. I want my next arrow to go straight through the deer.

Best braodhead switch ever.I bought this 3 pack last year during the middle of the season but never got to use them, this year took them out the pack and went deer hunting with out ever trying them at the range and after harvesting 1 deer, I have no doubt that this is going to be my braodhead of choice from now on, it is what I was looking for, devastating penetration thru bone even on a bad shot deer didn't go more
than 60 yards.

Great BroadheadsI bought these when I switched from compound bow to a crossbow. These NAP crossbow heads perform just as well as the one for the compound bows. Absolutely devastating wound channels and massive blood trails. I have never had a NAP broad head not open, and I've been using NAP mechanicals for over 15 years. Highly recommend.

Great broadheadsI used the bh s to kill my first deer. Great cutting power and penetration. The only problem I had was that to blades broke off, but things happen I guess. Great purchase though

Could not ask for betterFour deer in the freezer, same broadhead, same arrow. Sure, I had to tune-up the Maxx after each deer, cleaning out the grooves, etc. I even had to replace one of the blades, but 4 deer with the same broadhead is pretty good. None of the deer went more than 100 to 150 feet (good accuracy) and I think that is largely due to the devastation the Maxx deals-out. Even if the deer had gone further, challenging me to actually track, I could have easily done it given the conspicuous blood trail the Maxx creates. Yikes. Buy a set of these, and a package of replacement parts, and you are set for the next three to five years.
