Q&A
Whether you call it a worm, a craw, or some kind of weird hybrid finesse bait, there's no doubting the effectiveness of the Missile Baits® Fuse 4.4 softbait. It's outstanding on a shaky head, drop shot rig, or Ned Rig on rock or in open water. Deadly on a Texas or Carolina rig slipping through the grass. Amazing on a wacky hook. And nothing pulls bites after punching through matted cover like this odd 4.4"L straight worm with claws. The Fuse 4.4's versatility is the result of its unique design, which features a slender, lightly segmented worm-like body with a pair of sleek claws at one end; the claw arms are extra-thin for their size, so this bait elicits wild action with the barest movement. The body itself, although straight, is molded thicker at the worm end to accommodate the hook shank and thinner at the craw end for easy hook point insertion and solid hooksets.

Excellent on a Mushroom HeadI bought these after reading an article by John Crews on fishing the Neko Rig. He recommended this bait for the technique. I on the other hand did not like this for the Neko Rig and was ready to give the baits away. It was sad because I actually loved the design of the bait but was disappointed with it for that rig. I decided to give it another go and put it on a Ned Rig Mushroom Head and......SCORE! That first day I put on a bass catching expedition; it was crazy. I heavily out-fished my buddy by a long shot after I put this bait on. On numerous other trips afterwards I was catching Bass after Bass. I had numerous trips of over 20 bass and many trips in the high teens as well. The largest Bass I caught was a little over 3 lbs but the numbers were crazy. You have to try this bait on a BPS Ned Head; you'll certainly be glad you did! In another review (for the Missile Baits "48") I ranted about using it for a Ned Rig; between this bait and that one I have no need for any other baits for a Ned Rig. My favorite color in the 4.4 is the P. Funk Red; although Green Pumpkin has worked very well also.

Best Ned Rig Bait Ever Made!I originally bought this bait for the Neko Rig and honestly did not like it for that technique very much. But I did like the shape and design of the bait so I really did want to add it to my arsenal. What I ended up with was the very best Ned Rig bait you could ever want to have. With just two outings so far throwing it on a Ned Rig I have caught 33 Bass on it. Just yesterday I caught 10 Bass on a single bait; so even the durability is top notch. So many folks throwing a small stickworm type bait on a Ned Rig; this is something different and the Bass LOVE it. I throw it on a 1/16 oz. BPS Shroom Jighead. The first outing the Green Pumpkin produced well; yesterday on a different body of water the P Funk Red was the ticket.
