Marlin Model 60 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle
The Marlin® Model 60 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle has perennially been one of the finest values in firearms you can find. The Model 60 features Micro-Groove® rifling (16 grooves) that obtains maximum accuracy with .22 LR cartridge. An automatic last-shot, bolt hold-open lets you know when the 14-shot tubular magazine needs a refill. The 1-piece stock is made from walnut-finished hardwood, and the barrel is blued. The alloy receiver is grooved to accept 3/8" rimfire scope rings; and the rifle comes with adjustable open sights. The Model 60 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle features a cross-bolt safety that's easily reached with the shooter's trigger finger.

An American Classic over 11 million soldI just bought another Marlin Model 60, best .22cal semi-auto rifle ever made in my humble opinion. Barrel is extra thick and micro grooved and perfectly crowned. Have a BARSKA 3-9x32 Plinker-22 scope mounted, this rifle is a tack driver at 50 & 100 yards. Excellent price point and all around more bang for your buck than the 10/22 with 10 round mag. Ranked the best .22 semi-auto rifle ever by many others.

What a super fun rifle!!I've had the gun for a couple of months now and have ran about 700 or so rounds through it (cleaned twice). It is stupid-accurate right out of the box. Mount a little scope on it and it's almost not fair. I have ran Federal, Remington and CCI ammo and the rifle has loved them all. I can't compare it to any other 22 rifles since the Model 60 is the only one I've owned (this is my second!), but I can say that it is a great gun that lives up to it's stellar reputation.

I Had To Have Two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My first Marlin 60 I bought in 1972. It was and still is a great gun. I practice a lot of off hand with it. This prepares me for CMP Off hand shooting. I had a another brand of 22 rifle that I would shoot with my son and Grandson but it eat magazines. I traded it at Cabela's and bought another Marlin 60. I sighted it in today. WOW!!!!!!!!! What a gun. I mean What a gun. After sighting in the gun I just drilled out the center of the target. 50 yard target is nothing for this gun. The bullets hit in the same place over and over again. It is hard to get a count because so many go into the same hole. I am so happy I traded. SB

Nothing betterIf I had to choose only one gun for a complete lifelong survival situation, it would be this gun. A fella could live forever in the woods with one of these and couple bricks of bullets. I have several model 60's and they are all a hoot to shoot, accurate and fun. A real nail-driver. Everyone should own one of these.

MARLIN MODEL 60 22 LR RIFLEi BOUGHT THIS RIFLE TO USE TO TEACH MY WIFE AND 13 YR OLD SON GUN SAFETY AND HOW TO HAVE SAFE FUN WHILE SHOOTING AT A RANGE. i FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS LITTLE RIFLE, RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX IT WILL PUT ALL 15 ROUNDS IN A 2 INCH CIRLCE AT 25 TO 30 YDS. What a great gun to teach someone how to put their shots on paper. It sure is more fun when they can see their progress ..

Will the shot from this kill a snapping turtle?
Thanks
Asked by: SPRedden
If you are shooting it in the head, yes. If you are just shooting through the shell, maybe. Depends on where you hit them and how thick the shell is. Also bear in mind that a hunting license is required and there is a season to hunt turtles. Always look into your state and local laws.
P.S. If you are hunting them remember they have a very primitive nervous system meaning it takes them awhile to stop biting.

I want to put a Leopold scope on this Marlin, I need some directions on the mounting
Asked by: Clear
Thank you for your inquiry. To mount a scope, this rifle is grooved to accept 3/8" rimfire scope rings. The height of the rings is determined by the size of the objective on the scope.

IS IT DIFICULT TO BUY A RIFLE ..I WOULD LIKE TO GET BACK IN SOME TARGET FUN.. NO CRIMINAL RECORDS, CLEAN AS A HOUNDS TOOTH..
Asked by: bill the baker
Thank you for your question Bill!
Unfortunately, for a question like this, the answer varies enough that we can't really answer it. I would suggest talking to local law enforcement directly, as they will have the best, most up to date information for you. Your local Bass Pro or Cabela's should also be able to give you some guidance on what you'd need to make the purchase.
I hope this information helps!

Will the Marlin 60 cycle properly firing CCI's Copper-22 ammo? (The one with 21 grain projectile and 1850fps)
Asked by: TheGDizzo
Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. As long as you are using .22 LR Ammo you should have no problem with this rifle.
