Worked OK... for a while.Had this unit for a little over a year and used it with good success to clean all kinds of brass including really dirty black powder cartridge cases. Had to run multiple cycles to get the brass to come clean though, but it did a really good job of cleaning the primer pockets.
I would then tumble the cleaned brass and they looked brand new. That's the good news.
Now for the bad news: after about 15 months of use, pin hole leaks developed in the bottom of the stainless steel tank and the cleaning solution leaked onto the circuit board below and shorted out the whole system. I counted 8 pin holes which seemed to all have developed during the final time I used it. Don't know why they appeared but it was kind of scary to have things shorting out on me.
Was a decent system while it lasted but I don't think I would buy another.

Quality Sonic CleanerI bought this sonic cleaner for 2 purposes in mind, a jewelry cleaner and parts cleaner. I bought both the jewelry and parts cleaner concentrates followed the instructions and I was amazed how quick and good it all worked out. I used distilled water to help prevent any spotting. My wife liked how the jewelry cleaned, and how easy it was for parts cleaning.

Results VaryI bought this thinking it would clean all those hard to scrub areas in bolt carriers, slides and inside used brass casings.Wrong! Following the instructions to the letter and using the proper cleaning solution diluted for "heavy" build up I still have to scrub by hand even after 3-4 cycles in the tank. The firing pin cavity areas are easier to brush out but still require manual labor. If you clean more often and do not allow a moderate to heavy build up of powder residue it works better. For brass I remove the primers then run through the sonic machine for at least 4 cycles and then wash off and tumble polish. Looks good. I have sumurged a snubby less the grips and it really cleaned the frame spotless. Be sure to blow dry and use a light oil on the surfaces. Dissembled a Glock 19 and dumped it into the machine with the same results. All light dirt gone. Just don't think it will clean heavy stuff off your parts without some scrubbing.

Works fineI went back and forth on the sonic cleaner or the tumbler . I went with the solid cleaner for speed and am not sure that I was right. You need to run the brass at least twice (16 minutes) and then rinse and dry it. If the primers are out the brass, it will dry enough to use in about 30 minutes due to the heat of the brass coming out of the cleaner. I leave the primers in to clean and then dry the cleaned cases in an old dehydrator that my wife upgraded from. After about an hour, the brass is ready to go. The tumbler takes about the same amount of time and can do more brass at once but then you have to clean out the media etc. Also, Lyman claims that you can fill the cleaner with brass but,.. it takes longer to clean and does not do as good of a job. Only cover the bottom of the basket and you will get cleaner brass faster. Also pre rinse your brass before cleaning to give your cleaning solution more life. I also went with the sonic cleaner for cleaning parts and items besides brass.

Two thumbs up!Brass tossed in the tumbler first, then this... Comes out amazingly clean! Like new! Even the primer pockets are shiny! Forget expensive commercial solutions: I use 50% distilled water, 40% vinegar, 10% isopropyl alcohol, and a dash of dish soap. I still have to try cleaning my bolt carrier assembly. But i have confidence this will work wonderfully. I have cleaned my eyeglasses, they look sparkling brand new! For those, use only water and dish soap.
