Unlike no other lure past or present. The twisting and reversing, side-to-side erratic action of the U-shaped Luhr Jensen® Super Duper® spoon draws strikes from even the most finicky gamefish. Fish at any speed, or any angle. A classic lure for trout.

Trout SlayerI started fishing for brook, brown and rainbow trout in Wisconsin streams last year. Having only been fly fishing for trout prior this was a new twist. A friend mentioned this lure as a 'go to'. He was right! When other lures aren't producing, I tie on a super duper and I can be assured a strike. If you haven't given this a try, I would grad a few colors and hit the water!

Outstanding! Was trout fishing in Arizona and noticed that the locals used a lot of these. So I ordered a few 1 1/4" silver prism models for back in Oklahoma. The local pond is stocked with trout every Dec - Feb. Decided to check it out yesterday. It was so cold the eyelets on my rod were freezing over. Anyway, on my 3rd cast I landed a 14" 1.35 lb rainbow. Caught a couple more in succession. These fish loved this thing!! People around me were using power bait with no success. I'm totally sold on these, especially for trout. Just ordered a few more just in case the inevitable happens and I hang one up. Tight Lines!

Luhr Jensen Super DuperI bought the smallest size and thought that was a mistake. However, I can cast probably 50-60 feet even though its weightless. The first cast in the water, I caught the largest crappie I ever saw. I think its supposed to be a trout lure though.

Best kept secretThese lures are my #1 trout lure. I've used them for 30+ yrs. and have found nothing better. Stock your box with all available colors as trout are very color selective. I had to order online as our local Bass Pro did not stock.
I see people using these very effectively but ive had very little luck with them. Do you guys cast and reel in like a spinner bait? How fast? When you use the lighter 501 and 502s do you weight them down with split shot? I find that the lighter lures tend to stay near the top unless i bring them in slowly. Any tips would be great.

Use a little weight and real as you would a spinner

When rigging for a spinning/casting setup, do you tie your line directly to the snap? What knot do you use?
I fish using a lot of spinners. I just bought some super dupers to try out, and am a little confused about the snap.
I'm wondering if I should just tie a trilene knot directly to the snap, use some sort of loop knot, or just remove the snap and tie a knot directly to the lure...

I remove the snap that comes on it and use a black swivel snap on the line. You'll need to change colors fairly often, so if you tie directly to the lure; you'll wear yourself out. I have the most luck with the silver and the rainbow. As you know; with trout it's all about color and their preference changes often. If you haven't had a strike in 20 casts, change colors. When you find the right one for the time you can slay some trout in a short period of time.

Will the swivel on this lure keep timid trout from striking it?
Asked by: bassbuster346
Possibly. If I don't have any luck, I'll remove the swivel and tie directly to the line. I've got to know that trout are present in the water though.
