Nice scopeI haven't hunted with this scope yet but it seems very good quality for the price. I replaced a scope that came with my Savage and the difference is quite noticeable, Very crisp, clear and better in low light conditions. I think this scope will be a much better upgrade.

Excellent OpticI was in the market for an upgrade from my VX-3i 3.5-10x40 CDS I had mounted on my Rem 700 SPS 30-06 to be able to take advantage of 500+ yard hunting opportunities. The VX-3i 4.5-14x50 CDS did the trick. As per usual with all 7 of my Leupold scopes, great glass clarity, the 50mm objective lens gives me a very usable exit pupil in low light in this magnification range, and it is relatively compact and lightweight. I also love the WindPlex reticle for accurate and fast windage adjustments in the field. Very pleased!

VX3I Is my go to hunting rifle scopeI may be partial to Leupold rifle scopes, but the CDS 30mm tube scopes are nothing short of spectacular.1 code is included for a Customized elevation turret with the purchase of the scope. There is no windage turret, but the Leupold windplex reticle is a great reticle to make up for it.

Very DissapointedIf you are expecting to get a CDS dial before hunting season 2018... Forget about it. Leupold hasn't been forthright with their CDS customers and have had laser engraver machine issues. Thanks for letting us know. Now they are barely starting to work May orders and it's August. Leupold's customer care is terrible too. Think before you buy if you want the CDS for this season. You might be in luck for 2019 hunting season.

Thanks for your question. Eye relief is listed on the chart; for model 170684, it is 4.4" at the lowest magnification and 3.6" at the highest.

For the VX-3i with a 50mm what rings and base do I need for a 30.06 SW rifle

Thank you for your question. Rings for this scope should fit a 1” tube. 40mm objectives will almost always have enough clearance with Low rings in a given style, though Medium rings will give slightly more clearance, particularly when using a barrel with a thicker shank portion or a heavier contour. 50mm objectives will almost always use High rings in a given style. In certain instances, such as with extremely heavy barrels or some makes of firearms, Extra High rings may be necessary. The base needed would depend on the model of rifle.

Why can't you put this scope on a muzzle loader?

You could, but scopes for muzzleloaders and rimfire rifles usually have the parallax set for 50 yards at the factory, whereas most high power rifle scopes have the parallax set for 100 yards. Thank you for the question!

Thank you for your question. Leupold model 170693 has the Custom Dial System. Other Leupold VX-3i Riflescopes that have CDS are under SKU 2436694 or Cabela's item numbers IK-714640 and IK-714735. Information for ordering the custom turrets is included with the riflescope.
