UnbelievableSo, even though I had fly fishing gear for years, I never really got into it until 2 years ago. I used what I had, and my wading boots were middle of the line/entry level boots. I think I just assumed that wading boots were really hard to put on, super uncomfortable, difficult to get off, cold, and heavy. Kind of like your typical experience with ski boots, you need them, they aren't great, you suffer, and you try to enjoy skiing but it isn't fun.
Well, these boots have the potential to change your life. I literally sighed out loud when I put my waders on and slipped my foot in for the first time. They are really, really comfortable and go on and off incredibly easily. The Boa lacing system might take a little getting used to but it isn't a big deal. It seemed like it tightened up around my ankle nicely but left some room over my arch that felt a little loose. That might have been me not doing it right or something else but regardless it felt light years ahead of my old boots.
The felt soles are super stable, to the point of me thinking if you fall in while wading, it was because you did something stupid or were moving to fast, I doubt very seriously it would be because you just slipped. The traction is really, really good. The fact that you get the versatility of changing soles with different conditions is an added bonus.
I used to cringe when I accidentally kicked a rock while fishing cause it felt like I had just split my toenails, my feet always hurt after fishing, they were usually cold, it took me forever to get in and out of my boots, the laces loosened over time. It was always a struggle but fishing today for the fist time in these boots was fantastic.
The only thing I don't like is that the D ring to clip your gravel guards is at the very end of the boot and my waders with built in gravel guards don't reach it. I would usually just hook it to the laces but with the Boa system don't know if I can or should do that.
Overall I'm ecstatic about these boots and would highly, highly recommend them.
Thank you for your question. Because these are wading boots designed to be worn in the water, Korkers designs them to accommodate both standard socks and the neoprene booties typically built into stocking-foot waders. Korkers recommends wearing at least one, if not both, of these layers. They could be worn without socks, but it it not recommended.

How is the sizing? If I wear a 10 should I buy a 10 or a size larger to make room for the waders?

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. Korkers recommends purchasing the next whole size larger from your normal shoe size.

Thank you for choosing Bass Pro Shops. These Wading Boots have a TPU toe cap (which is thermoplastic or molded plastic). There is no protection for the toes on these boots.
