Q&A
Frustrated with changing kinked rigs when fishing with steel leaders? Then step up to Knot 2 Kinky Nickel-Titanium Leader Wire, a super-elastic alloy which can be stretched and bent at least ten times more than ordinary steel leaders, without permanent deformation! Knot 2 Kinky Wire allows a fish to apply an enormous bite, then stretches and recovers while steel leaders snap under the same conditions. And, because the wire is annealed through a special process, it's "programmed" to remain straight.
Both inshore and offshore anglers have experienced the frustration and wasted time of using a steel leader with its constant kinking and bending, which causes baits to swim improperly. Now, instead of having to change or re-tie rigs, you can get your rig back in the water with Knot 2 Kinky Nickel-Titanium Leader Wire. Made in USA.
Super-elastic nickel and titanium alloy
Stretches and bends 10 times more than ordinary steel leaders
"Programmed" to remain straight
Knottable

Difficult to tieWith some practice and patience, this stuff can be tied. I just spent half an hour I'll never get back trying to tie some leaders. I got one and I dont trust the knot. Unless you've got nothing better to do that learn how to tie wire, do yourself a favour and buy the pre-tied ones.

Great leader for ice fishing NorthernsThere is a learning curve when tying knots. I use a clinch knot with 2.5 twists. The key is when tightening the knot, don't hold the lure/hook and pull, grab the tag end of the knot with pliers and pull from both sides of the knot. You don't have to have the knot real tight, it won't slip. When attaching this leader to my ice fishing dacron I use a swivel. Experiment a little, I have never had a Tiger or Northern cut this leader.

Knot seems impossibleI recently purchased 35lb test leader material. After reading the knot instruction on the package, I attempted to tie a couple leaders and found it to be totally unsatisfactory. I doubt I will ever use the product opting to go back to pre-made titanium leaders. The knot to kinky leader may tie better in lighter strengths.

Darn Good Leader MaterialI primarily bought this leader for it's flexibility, which comes from being made of nickel titanium and is superb. I use it for making regular and popping bobbers, the reason being that it will bend to 180 degrees and bounce right back. Sometimes necessary when fishing in heavily vegetated water or when fighting a good fighter. I use the 75lb .023" diameter leader and love it. I have made a few clinch knots with it without any problems. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a strong non kinking wire leader.

Knot for meI received the product in a timely manner, opened the pacakage and started tying my first leader, as I tightened the first knot the material broke. Don't trust it, even though it had a good review from a guy that fishes the BWCAW.

super product for Boundary WatersI fish smallmouth in BWCA, and hate losing lures to nuisance pike. But also hate using leaders because they kink and also dampen lure action. OK, so last year used Knot2Kinky. Used ONE leader the whole time, caught well over 100 fish. No kinks, no bite-offs, the leader material is ultra-thin and pliable. Exactly as advertised, except better. Tied knots as per company instructions and had zero problems. Caught several bonus pike up to 14 lbs, smallies to 5 lbs, everything held tight.

great productthis is a great product! I trust it completely, I use the 6lb wire most of the ice fishing season when targeting walleye, where there is always possibility of a big 20+ pike.
To the reviewer who had knot failures...you need to use specific knots with this product, for connecting mainline to leader splice I have found best performance using an improved Albright (wrap up, wrap down) with lighter braid/mono I like to do 12 wraps up/down...adjust the wraps to the diameter of the line....this is a very thin product compared to steel/nylon coated steel, I believe it will actually cut through your mainline if you do not have enough wraps to absorb the shock
for terminal tackle knots, either the perfection look or a clinch knot...you will need to use less wraps on the clinch knot
the knot may look loose, but it WILL hold...I like to use a drop of UV glue on the knot as added measure it doesn't let go, but mostly to cover the tag end and help keep it weedless
