All I did was put a self tapping screw in the aluminum transom support and the pump slid right on. Thank goodness have not had to use the pump yet but as I said was very easy to install

This cartridge pump comes with a Johnson Electronic Float Switch on the side. The pump is still going. The wire entry consists of 3 wires passing through 3 holes in a pressed-in rubber grommet with no additional sealant. I have had two switches recently fail, one after 1 year of light use is fresh water, a second after 8 weeks in brackish water. The second I hacksawed open. Obvious water ingress and one wire detached/corroded away from the internal [Made in China] electronic module.

I have a attwood 1250 bilge pump with a float switch will this pump operate with a different make float witch

Thanks for your interest. Per the manufacturer, these pumps may be automatically controlled with either an automatic switch AS888, or an electronic float switch, or the new Ultima Switch. Is this bilge pump automatic? Will it accept a float switch?

My Mayfair model 1700 (1600GPH) siezed and cracked this past fall. It has a Mayfair float switch installed. Will this Johnson operate with float switch? Thanks

Yes, controlled with either an automatic switch AS888 or an electronic float switch.
