Terrible for cold weatherAs soon as it gets cold the soles get rock hard. Extremely slippery and noisy in cold weather. The soles on mine cracked right away. Nice looking and comfortable though, but only good for above freezing temperatures

Comfortable boot but soles crackI've had two pairs of these boots. The first pair the soles cracked within 4-5 months of buying them. Took them back to the store and they replaced with the same pair. About a year later (maybe a little sooner) the same exact thing happened. The crack is the entire way across the boot. Pretty disappointing because overall I liked the boot they were very comfortable and I'm on my feet all day. But I can't see spending the money on a boot with an obvious problem in their sole material.

ComfortComfortable boot, but if you're looking for performance and durability, look elsewhere. These will not hold up. Soles are too soft, they don't provide traction. They look great though, but don't use them for work. Funny thing is, went into the red wing store two months after I bought them and they flat out told me...yeah these things can't hold up to work. Might last six months to a year. Talked to others - as their boots literally look like their toes are falling out of them - and I ask, are those gen years old? And they say, no, these are three months old!! Serious. But people buy them - I bought them - because they look so good and they're so comfortable.

One of the most comfortable boots made! Worst laces ever made...I have three pairs of these boots. I've worn them for over 5 years. They're very comfortable, keep your feet dry, and take on any work load. The sole is soft so don't expect to get thousands of "miles" on them. But you can wear them on mile long walks in complete comfort. You can not go wrong with these boots. HOWEVER...the laces that come with them are the ABSOLUTE WORST laces ever produced! Do yourself a favor and buy a good quality lace and throw the crap ones away!

Very durable and comfortableBought these with the intention of doing some hiking and more outdoor activities. These boots are the way to go. Hiked 18.5 miles in these boots in one day through watered out trails, snow, dry grass, an asphalt. My feet were dry as a bone through it all.
The break-in period was around 1-2 weeks and ran a little narrow until they were completely broken in for me. The leather and soles are a little thicker on this boot. I bought them a size bigger than normal, (I have wide feet and these were readily available in a size bigger) and they broke in nicely.
I now wear these boots everyday and I cant complain at all. They are very comfortable for everyday use. Even got my girlfriend to buy a pair! I will definitely buy again

Not a Quality BootThese are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn and not durable in the least. I bought these 2 months ago from a Bob's Store in Connecticut. For years I have been wearing my Danner Rivot TFX Army boots for my weekend DIY projects and they we very comfortable. However, they cannot be resoled so I figured it was time to get a proper outdoor/work boot. I am familiar with Redwing quality and while I know Irish Setter is your value brand I expected at least an average quality boot. This boot is very low quality. The soles are already show significant wear and the laces broke. REALLY just 60 DAYS!!!! I know these are not top quality like the Rivot, which cost twice as much, but they are far from comfortable and don't last. On the positive side, they really are waterproof. I had to work in the pouring rain for 6 hours and my feet were bone dry. Though the waterproofing material makes the boots sound like crinkling plastic when putting them on.
I expected better from Redwing/Irish Setter. Please tell me that I somehow got a couterfeit boot and not your normal quality product. Because if this is your best effort for a value boot you need to do better.

Got a deal on a great pr of bootsPicked up a pr of these off a guy in Craigslist that wore them 2x and he didn't like them. I've always worn Red Wings and these were a great find.. Very comfortable, liked the color and sole is very comfortable. Whether you get them used or buy new ones, they're a great work boot and look great even just on weekends with jeans ...
