Great Ladder for the PriceGood sturdy ladder, we had guys over 225 lbs using it. The only draw back is the length, I would go with the 48" next time.

a mustwhile out fishing my grand daughter likes to take a swim break. This year she is just to big to lift in the boat, and an adult has a very hard time getting back in the boat. This ladder works great, my son and I used it also , were both at about 200 lbs. Does not mark up the boat, stores easy, and a good buy.

Must Be ModifiedThis was supposed to fit a Bass Boat, but it won't work on my 18 foot aluminum Bass Tracker. The horizontal supports are much too low and too short and will need to be modified

Emergency only maybeI bought this during the off season and never tried to use it until around June. The hooks have the ladder so far out at the top, it is almost useless. They would need about ten inch supports on the bottom to compensate for the hooks and the angle of the boat sides. I can't imagine what sort of boat this would be good for.

Works in a pinchThe ladder has a 250 pound weight rating which severely over rated. I broke both the support legs first time out (yes it was used properly) and I weigh 180 pounds. It would be a much better ladder if the support legs were also aluminum with 4-8 inches more adjustment instead of plastic. It will work in a pinch or life and death situation but don't count on it holding up too long.

Good valueworth the money, a bit "light" as to load capability, i would not trust the steps for anyone over 200 lbs, but for average use it is fine

Hook Boat LadderAs advertised, and quick delivery. It doesn't fold flat, but that's ok. Well made.

Good Ladder for priceExcellant ladder for the price. Our boat has a high gunnel and I am going to buy the four foot ladder to get the extra step. Buy the longer ladder if you have a deep-V bottom boat with high gunnel. Our gunnel is wide and the ladder hooks fit very comfortably.
What is the hook distance from ladder to end of hook. I need over 9" distance to clear side wall.

Choosing the Right Ladder Size For Your Boat
When you are floating in the water, only your head and shoulders are above the surface. This is an important consideration when using a ladder to re-board your boat. If the ladder does not extend deep enough into the water, you may have to bring your leg up to your chest just to get on that first rung. As a result, it is very important to choose a ladder that will extend two or three rungs below the water’s surface (about 2 - 3 feet).
To determine the overall height of the ladder you need, measure the height of the freeboard on your boat and then add an extra 2 to 3 feet for ladder submersion. For mounted ladders, also take into consideration where the ladder will be mounted on your boat. You’ll need to allow for proper ladder submersion, while also mounting high enough up the freeboard in order to make reboarding easy.
Tip: If reboarding from the side of your boat, choose a ladder with standoffs that rest against the hull. This adds rigidity and stability to the boat ladder. Ladders without standoffs in a side-boarding situation can flex and float underneath the boat, making them difficult to climb.
Thank you

Will this ladder work on a 22' Seahawk?
I have a 22' Seahawk we are looking to have a ladder on board to use for swimming when the boat is docked. Will the 4 step ladder work for this boat?
Asked by: aja0616
Just be sure you need a 11 inch hook, if so the supports are moveable to any one of the other steps to stabilized the ladder when boarding.

Can I get replacement parts?
There is a small insert in each of the fold out feet. One came out somewhere while the ladder was in use. I need to find a replacement.

You can contact Dotline Drifter Marine at 1-800-279-4611 for the small insert for the ladder.
